    There are a series of guys from those post-86 years when I was playing a lot of Micro League Baseball on the C64, and I would create these "prospects" regardless of whether they were actual prospects, with stats based on whatever I could find. Torve was one of those guys who I "called up" and he had a phenomenal season, because all I knew was that the dude was a .300 hitter in AAA. Same with Lou Thornton; he stole 100 bases for me one season. I still have a soft spot for Julio Machado, who was a Micro League bullpen mainstay long before he murdered somebody.

    I keep waiting for the day that we get to post the Memories of Craig Kimbrel thread. Other guys on the 40: Alex Carrillo (5.74 ERA with 19 walks in 15 innings) Daniel Duarte (just sent down, but 2.60 in 17 IP) Joey Gerber (9.28 in 10.2 IP in Syracuse) Jonathan Pintaro (2.52 in 25 IP with 32 K) Dylan Ross (1.54 ERA across three levels) Anderson Severino (0.98 in 18 IP, including one start) I leave off Tong because he's a starter replacement.

    I've always conflated Zach Littell with Mark Littell, an unrelated Cardinals pitcher in the early 80s. I remember the elder Littell because his 1981 Topps card not only looked badly airbrushed, but my copy also had a fuzzy printing error that made it look like he was bleeding from the eyes. It was so weird.

    My gut reaction says that feels about right. I remember Niese being better than he actually was, for what it's worth, but an ERA of just under 4 is better than a lot of guys we've had.

    The Angels last night! Scoreless going to the ninth, Angels being no-hit by the Insert Your City Here A's and our former farmhand JT Ginn. A's pick up one in the top of the ninth to take the lead, then in the bottom half: leadoff single walkoff homer Boom.
