  1. =kcmets post_id=15141 time=1562356274 user_id=53] We need too see Good Ol' Bill and his brooms on Sunday. Gotta! #lgm #ygb #ymdyf
  2. Batty's back! The food is legitimately good. So many choices. (None of them cheap, of course, but whatever.) Opportunity to meet Mr. (and sometimes Mrs.) Met in centerfield before the game and then again in the 2nd inning or thereabouts.
  3. I would absolutely reboot our Ramones shirt, because my old one shrunk.
  4. Interesting. Can't wait until he lands in Atlanta and hits twenty home runs in the second half. That'll be awesome.
  5. =G-Fafif post_id=14964 time=1562166820 user_id=55]A greater middle-aged element than you'd suspect.
  6. Vic Sage wrote: how effective can he be, considering his first inning is always his worst? Literally. Dude's got a first-inning ERA over 11. Although maybe if you give him a chance to kind of air it out a bit, maybe he shakes some of that.
  7. I've bought a few shirts from them through the years -- notably, the Mookie/Game 6 boxscore one, which I still wear all the time -- and they got me into Game 5 of the World Series, so I can't be too mad at that. A friend of mine is a full-on "member" and goes to all the games and some of the trips, and he's a really good dude, so whereas there may be a douchey element to it, I think that's just a generalized NYC/LI thing, not a 7 Line thing. They're a fuckton better than the Bleacher Creatures ever were. Darren, by all accounts, seems like a very good guy. He fully admits that he's not going to jeopardize his livelihood by being openly anti-Mets right now, and I don't blame him for that. And they did away with the "girls" calendar a few years back and it's all group photos now, IIRC, although to their credit, they did have Amanda, a fan who's in a wheelchair, as one of their models that year, so they do get a point or two for inclusivity.
  8. No 11s, no 19s, no 23s. Interesting. =G-Fafif post_id=14816 time=1562042968 user_id=55]4 Snider
  9. Break a leg! Very cool.
  10. Steven Matz, who leads the league in home runs allowed, vs Julio Teheran, who's roughly 18-1 with a 1.45 ERA career at Citi Field.* This should end well. *Kidding. 6-3, 2.28 in 13 starts. Did you know he's been around since 2011? I would have said 2014, maybe 2015 at the earliest.
  11. Oh, absolutely. But one of Brodie's missions over the winter was to shore up the pen, and he unquestionably did that. The fact that it didn't work is some combination of injury, mismanagement, and misjudgment. The question is what percent is what.
  12. Stupid autocorrect.
  13. None of us thought Familia would get hit by a bus - I loved bringing him back. And I still like Diaz and think he'll come around. And yet -- look at the arms [CROSSOUT]Anderson[/CROSSOUT] Alderson brought back in 2017 - Drew Smith: 60-day-DL with TJS AJ Ramos: Was mostly terrible, and has now completely vanished Stephen Nogosek: was good in the minors this season, but seven hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings in the bigs Jamie Callahan: did nothing, was released Gerson Bautista: did nothing, was dealt in Cano deal and has been terrible anyway Ryder Ryan: 5.60 ERA in AA Eric Hanhold: 5.15 ERA in AA/AAA Jacob Rhame: 6.65 ERA in 44 Mets innings
  14. It'll be run kinda like the IGT. If the team wins you get to keep managing. What a hoot it will be! "And the final score here at Citi Field is Marlins 14, Mets 3, thus ending Weird Al's three-game winning streak as Mets manager. Join us tomorrow as lefthander Steven Matz faces the Marlins, and Alfonso Ribeiro moves into the manager's seat! I sure do hope he does that Carlton dance on his way to make a pitching change."

  16. It's like negative Schaefer Points! Bud Light Points or something.
  17. =G-Fafif post_id=14462 time=1561677123 user_id=55] Make Gil Jr. manager for the weekend. Art and Cleon can be his bench coaches. Then let Riggleman or whoever caretake until the break. Call Girardi or someone legit for after the break. Today wasn't Mickey's fault. He sent his closer out there and his closer imploded. But asking Mets fans to keep looking at this unsuited, unskilled manager and dare to propose they buy tickets is a bruise to the brand.
  18. Fire the whole damn active roster. Scratch that - everyone but deGrom, McNeil, Alonso, Dom Smith, and Conforto.
  19. At least two Poolers in the house today, as per their Facebook posts. Get this win, fellas.
  20. =Centerfield post_id=14343 time=1561643646 user_id=65] Agreed! But let's make sure to unload all of the salary to make sure we don't get any player of use in return.
  21. =dgwphotography post_id=14330 time=1561638214 user_id=78] I just can't vote for that Life cover. I want to find the nearest DeLorean, and smack that photo editor around
  22. Ah, there's the rub.
  23. Edgy MD wrote: One appearance for 12 pitches in the last 11 days. What gives? We haven't had a ninth-inning lead since, oh, I don't know, 1972?
  24. =bmfc1 post_id=14292 time=1561598670 user_id=73] It's a tie-game and the manager double-switched Dom Smith out of the game.
