  1. I'm also thankful that the team has seemingly started to embrace its history in earnest. They pulled all sorts of guys out of the woodwork for appearances before games and on podcasts and whatnot.
  2. This may seem a little hokey, but I'm thankful for y'all. Sports fandom is weird, really, but I love that I've developed actual live friendships with many of you that transcend our little internet haven. We've gone to games together, tailgated, gone out for drinks, been to each other's houses and parties, and connected in cities across the country. It's really awesome. It was someone (MetFairy, IIRC) a few years ago who told the story - and I'm paraphrasing here - of meeting up with this group and being asked by a non-CPF friend, "how do you know that they're not axe murderers?" Well, even though I know you all *are* axe murderers, I'm thankful for you anyway. Thanks for being you, my Axe Murderer Friends.
  3. Get Wally Backman on the phone. The Ducks need Shinjo.
  4. Yeah, I'm okay with bringing back the black. In moderation, but sure.
  5. =dgwphotography post_id=26874 time=1574281119 user_id=78] Um, those didn't look like the healthiest steps ever taken at the end of that video
  6. None of them are coming close. Kent 25% Wagner 21% Sheffield 12% Abreu 2% Putz 0 Valverde 0 Bell 0
  7. Thanks for the nudge. Done.
  8. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Now we're into it. Several excellent covers in this round which would easily trounce nearly every cover we've so far considered: MICKEY MOUTH CLUB. Brill. Absolutely. That might be my favorite so far.
  9. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Yeah I'd trade our new manager for 5 years of Wheeler Didn't we... already trade our new manager for five years of Wheeler? Would seem silly to do that AGAIN.
  10. I don't think he said it either, but I'd be really surprised if Diaz wasn't the guy heading into ST.
  11. Miller, Murphy, Parker, Whitaker. I could be convinced on Simmons and Evans. The rest, no.
  12. I will forever miss that place.
  13. I'm okay with Grandal too. I think he fills a need. I like Ramos, and he hits and gets on base and doesn't strike out, but Grandal is appreciably better.
  14. Stony Brook alums in the news, as Travis Jankowski, DFAed by the Padres, gets picked up by the Reds, and Nick Tropeano, DFAed by the Angels, heads off to free agency and will hopefully get a non-roster invite from someone this spring.
  15. The Post used the same Diaz headline twice in the span of three days?
  16. Why would you whack a manager who just got into the Hall of Fame AND is coming off his third straight World Series win? That'd be odd.
  17. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Vanis takee! Exactly what I came here to post!
  18. I'm all in, baby! I love the Beltran/Collins pairing.
  19. I love the longer season/same number of games idea. Build in community builders on the off days, especially when teams are home. Have them spend a day at local elementary schools or whatever.
  20. It's hard to get too worked up one way or another about any candidate being "in" or "out," because we honestly have no idea and all the reporters are just filling space. YA GOTTA BELIEVE, LUNCH.
  21. Dude wants to get paid and doesn't care where it comes from.
  22. You can't just post that without a link, my friend. I'll take two, just in case one gets dirty.
  23. Eff this shithead.
  24. Yeah, "take that, Nats!" Yeah! We showed THEM.
  25. =nymr83 post_id=25490 time=1572460267 user_id=54] none of these excite me but i'll take Beltran just for being Beltran.
