1. And a WP moves the runners up.Ralph suggests walking Wright.Which, if you're crazy enough to walk Floyd, isn't so crazy. As Wright drives in two with a base hit.
2. And now he steals second. How 'bout that Beltran? So they walk Floyd. With nobody out. To get to David Wright.MORONS.
3. Madlock. Good guess.
4. Jacobs wearing #27, for mbtn.com reference.
5. Pass. He brings nothing to the table that we don't already have.
6. Mike & the Dog had a thought on this... first, who the hell would claim him, with $7 million left next year, and second, if he was claimed, why would they pull him back? Doesn't make sense. So either one of two things might have happened... either the rumor is totally bogus, or perhaps Hideki Matsui was claimed and pulled back, which would make sense, and the rumor is just misguided.
7. What about Chester Copperpot? He was a pirate. (Long dead in the movie, but still a pirate.)
8. Is "Goonies" a pirate movie? It has eyepatches, booty, skulls, and a plank scene. What a classic.
9. Welcome indeed. I think this is the first real love we've seen for Brian Bannister this year, despite his solid start.
10. In searching the B-Mets pitching stats for updates on my adoptee, I noticed this line:Bacani 4 G, 4 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 KThat's a pretty impressive pitching line for a 5'7" infielder.

Every time the subject of Reyes comes up, I have only one thing to say. He's only 22 years old! Cut him some slack, jack!
12. Why don't you tell your stupid ranch tooth to shut up?!?!
13. Maybe he can have the surgery, and while he's in there, they can get rid of the thing on the side of his head.

16. I love when people post using their other names. It totally confuses the hell out of the new people.
17. ]Bonds now says he could return in September August 16, 2005 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Barry Bonds now says there's a good chance he could play for the San Francisco Giants this season because his bad knee is doing better. ``Two weeks ago things didn't look too promising, but the past 10 days my rehab has taken a turn for the better,'' he wrote in a new entry on his Web site. ``My strength and endurance have increased and my knee is feeling much better. I have been playing catch and in the next few weeks I hope to be in the cage doing some hitting. There is a good possibility that I could be back in September with the team, but, if not, I will definitely be in the 2006 lineup,'' he wrote.STFU, Barry. Retire, quit, come back and play, go coach Little League, have a sex change and become Barrina Bonds, go on a church mission to Guatemala, go smoke weed with Ricky Williams around the world, join the cast of Survivor 12, whatever. We just don't care any longer.
18. Ah. Thanks for reminding me to call Baseball Weekly, as they've been really slow with their most recent issues, and I'm starting to get irritated.
19. Perhaps this is Tracy Jones, proud member of the Southern Utah University softball team.Or perhaps this is Tracy Jones, who apparently has some connection with Penn State. Maybe she knows Ian from Survivor. Or Little Cooby. Or my friend from high school.Or perhaps this is Tracy Jones, known only by this "THEN" photo.Or perhaps this is Tracy Jones, whose Web presence says nothing but "Isn't she the cutest?" and plays an annoying song. But most likely, this is Tracy Jones, journeyman outfielder who hit .273 in six seasons with five teams from 1986-1991, and according to Baseball Reference, has a career path most similar to... Timo Perez.
20. HAILL!How about Darren Bragg and Randy Niemann?
21. Welcome aBordick, Hahn.I forgot Youmans; he's right, because he was the same draft as Gooden. How about Ronn Reynolds?
22. It was Pedro; July 28.
23. Don't jump into the screen. They frown upon that.
24. The question wasn't "Would Willie play to win?" He'd have to play to win, at least openly. He'd catch hell if he didn't, and I don't think anyone with any integrity at all wouldn't play to win, especially someone with lots of ties to another team that would be affected by the outcome. The question was "Would you root for the Orioles or the Mets?"
25. I think it's just each player's signature model, that you probably could have gotten at your neighborhood sporting goods store at the time. They have "game-used" gloves elsewhere on the site for quite a bit more money. So they're just old gloves with the branded signatures, nothing really more special than that. Either way, it's still neat.
