Okay, now I am ALL IN on a second-half rotation of McLean - Peralta - Scott - Pedro - Ryan. A 54-year-old Pedro would probably need at MOST 50 innings to strike out 36 guys. That's 10-12 starts, An 80-year-old Nolan Ryan could strike out seven guys in three innings. LET'S DO THIS, STEARNS.

The difference, though, is that Mike Piazza was a "final piece of the puzzle" guy on a second place team ready to make a move. So was Santana, joining a team that just missed the playoffs. This isn't that team.

Agree on all counts. The only guys they're getting any value for are Weaver, who might actually be worth keeping, and maybe Holmes. I don't think Alvarez goes anywhere, unless they think Kevin Parada's AAA resurgence is real. Parada, for what it's worth, is actually *older* than Alvarez, but they might figure on a Torrens platoon moving forward. I don't know. If they trade Lindor, I will fight someone. You can't keep kneecapping your fan base by getting rid of intensely popular players just for the fuck of it without some consequences. Lindor makes more money for the team than he earns. He's staying.

I know this isn't a Met-centric quiz, but all the guys I can think of are Mets who I don't think got there with a third team (Seaver, Scherzer, Verlander, Cone)... but... Bartolo? (Cleveland, Angels, Mets?)

That's Craig Paquette. I honestly thought Veras was a Met too, but he was only in AAA when he was traded for Carl Everett.

Yup. Did a little Googling. The Tower Buzzers are the single-A Dodgers affiliate this season, "replacing" the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, who still exist but are now an Angels' Cal League single-A team. The IE 66ers are affiliated with the Mariners this season, after being affiliated with the Angels previously. The Modesto Nuts, who were the M's A team, relocated to San Bernardino and took on the IE 66ers name.
