  1. Size order? Luis Castillo 2B Angel Pagan LF Jose Reyes SS Carlos Beltran CF Josh Thole C David Wright 3B R.A. Dickey SP Ike Davis 1B Jeff Francoeur RF

  3. Or in age order? Davis 1B Thole C Francoeur RF Reyes SS Wright 3B Pagan LF Beltran CF Castillo 2B Dickey SP
  4. Wow. (Although not Jerry Reed's finest work; that would be as performed on Scooby Doo.)
  5. I like him for manager as well. Agreed. Padres, 1982: .500 Padres, 1983 pre-callup: .447 Padres, June 2, 1983 through 1986: .514, NL Champs 1984 Padres, 1987: .401, last place Mets, 1987-1991: .553, NL East Champs 1988 Mets, 1992: .444, 5th place Mets, 1993: .364, 7th place Mets, 1994: .487, 3rd place Mets, 1995-1996: .459 Royals, 1991: 6th place (of seven in the AL West) Royals, 1992: 5th place Royals, 1993: 3rd place (In 1994 they moved to the new five-team AL Central and finished third.) McReynolds' tenures in bold. He made his teams better; the Derek Jeter of his time.
  6. Everyone -- including all Wilpons -- except Chip, Wayne, Frankie, and Edge. Chip can stay; I like having a guy named "Chip" around. Wayne's bad, yes, but he'll get better, and the radio guy doesn't really matter anyway. Frankie can stay because he still has trade value. Fire him? No. Trade him? Yes. Edge can stay because we need his witty banter.
  7. Reason enough for Kevin McReynolds to be the 2011 entrant to the Mets HoF.
  8. Or offer him a coaching gig if he's such a good clubhouse guy.
  9. metirish wrote: I can't see the Mets cutting him just so his contract won't vest , they just don't do things like that do they? The union would have a MAJOR problem with that. So you know what? Buy him out. Offer him $1 million to not file a grievance.

  11. Edgy DC wrote: Lastly, and this probably exists as well, but I'd like to see a stat showing just how awesome this forum is. I would point to the number of vaguely CF-looking children running around Latvian playgrounds as all you need to know.
  12. Willets Point wrote: Every time this thread comes up I expect to see that photo that JCL posted a poll about. Me too. I keep thinking someone's found it. I say cut Ollie and Francoeur and bring 'em both up, by the way.
  13. Okay, I'm on it. I'm 1-0 this season for IGTs, so let's bring it.
  14. Johan Santana just leaned over to Tak in the dugout and said "Sorry, man. Happens to me all the time."
  15. I know in my head that this team isn't going anywhere, and making a trade just to make a trade is idiotic with this roster, but I sure do wish they cared about the product as much as we do sometimes. (sigh)
  16. Willets Point wrote: Telly was originally obsessed with television (hence the name) but that characteristic didn't prove as interesting/educational as being obsessed with cookies or counting. He eventually phased into being a generally anxious monster. It's anxiety and triangles for Telly, both of which are endearing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2Z6tDSb6c8
  17. Not necessarily. PTBNL, apparently. Don't know why they'd give us a live arm for Jacobs.
  18. Ceetar wrote: What's the chance that the player to be named later ends up being Mike Jacobs? That would be Chiting.
  19. For what, I don't know. But the Twitterverse is abuzz.
  20. I love Ronnie, but I get a kick when announcers claim that something "never happens" and then it happens. Miller: /throws over twice Ronnie: "Well, a guy never throws over three times in a row, so Reyes has to go on first movement here." Miller: /throws over again
  21. Johan: "You know what, fuckers? I hate you fuckin' guys. I give up one run, you don't score. I give up two runs, you score three, then Frankie gives up two in the ninth. I give up seven, you tie the game after I leave. I hate you guys."
