  2. Edgy MD wrote: GUH! Dave F'n' Magadan! I discounted him because of 86. But he wasn't in the Series! Bingo.
  3. So more hits than Oly (figure 500ish), but not on the 69/73/86/00 teams. Bonilla?
  4. We dashed. We stood on the Shea Bridge for the 9th, and MiniWolf whined the whole time about going down to get on the Dash line. We wound up pretty far back, but it was totally worth it to jump around high-fiving strangers. Awesome times, and enormous fun to see everyone in person. MiniWolf ran the Shea bases in the parking lot after the game as well. MM -- gotta send that group photo around!
  5. Two big signings in the last two days, so we might as well start a Ducks thread. Dontrelle Willis: http://liducks.com/news/current/?article_id=354 Vlad Guerrero: http://liducks.com/news/current/?article_id=353 Would have been nice of Vlad to wear a shirt to the signing, but whatever. Once again, the Ducks are managed by Kevin Baez, assisted by Bud Harrelson. Former Ranger/Tiger/Royal Steve Foucault is the pitching coach. Other names you might know include Josh Barfield, former Padre infielder and son of Jesse; former Pirate pitcher Ian Snell; former Mets minor league pitcher Eric Niesen; and pitcher Josh Lansford, son of Carney. Outfielder Ray Navarrete is the Ducks' all-time leader in just about everything -- hits (879), home runs (130), RBI (510), runs (561), doubles (224) and games played (765) -- and returns for his eighth season after going .309/.372/.510 with 50 doubles and 18 home runs last year.

  7. Try the Fung Wah! (Oh, wait.) When/where are we meeting, everyone? Shea Bridge, some time midgame? We're in section 415.
  8. Second one. Too much sky in the first. Love both of them, though.
  9. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Shit effort, men. NOW YOU'VE GOT A PROBLEM WITH THE WAY WE'RE DOING IGTs? /upends postgame spread

  12. He looks wrong, somehow.
  13. Zvon wrote: Ugh. These hats will doom us. I didn't know they were gonna be goin with orange bills. If they HAVE to wear em they should only with the blue tops. Why don't they run these things by me first? Yeah, those are terrible. I'm not watching, but SNY posted this on FB.
  14. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Guess I'm surprised to see the Buckster squatting today. Terry told Fatcessa yesterday that Wrecker would more likely catch Gee and Hefner than the other three because those two are most capable of calling their own games. They're gonna save that for Sunday, when all the Poolers in attendance get to see Turner at third too.

  17. All the cool kids will be there on Sunday.

  20. We will rendezvous somewhere and take a photo of all of us so we can compare it to the group photo they take of the three Minipoolers at the 2027 MLB Draft.
  21. Adding the new guys to my master list of Met baseball card autographs needs, I find we've already had one Marlon (Anderson), one Collin (McHugh), one Burke (Tim), one Byrd (Paul), and one Brandon (Knight), but a handful of Scotts and Johns.
  22. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: seawolf17 wrote: And BOOM the Wolves will be in attendance on Sunday. The Buckets may drop by too. I can't miss the Laff-O-Lympics It'll be just me and MiniWolf; my wife and daughter are headed up for a funeral/girls' weekend, but we've got Opening Day on Saturday.
  23. Frayed Knot wrote: Kurado left early, although I missed the context. I think he might have taken a hit off his pitching hand. Victorino, sez the internets.
