  1. Trucks was a member of the "TTM (Through The Mail) Autograph" Hall of Fame. Super friendly guy.
  2. Straitlaced Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan (Tina Fey) is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the free-wheeling John Pressman (Paul Rudd). Pressman has surmised that Jeremiah, his gifted yet very unconventional student, might well be the son that Portia secretly gave up for adoption many years ago. Soon, Portia finds herself bending the rules for Jeremiah, putting at risk the life she thought she always wanted -- but in the process finding her way to a surprising and exhilarating life and romance she never dreamed of having. So Tina Fey plays a slightly more adorkable version of myself, except for a snootier school (Princeton). Also I have not, as far as I know, made out with any high school counselors.
  3. Shinjo is absolutely the right guy to Mets this up. Well done.
  4. I thought we all agreed that the Brad Emaus Era NEVER HAPPENED.
  5. As if I didn't already think you two kids were rock stars. AWESOME.
  6. DRAFT NIGHT BABY
  7. Holy Jeebus, that was so real I threw up a little.
  8. Never heard of Jerry Moses. I need to add these phantom Mets to my card collection.
  9. Anyone who fucking boos Johan Santana on Opening Day gets not only their fan card revoked, but also kicked in the nuts. Honestly, if I was a free agent, I'd never sign here.
  10. Wasn't there talk a year or two ago about the Red Sox acquiring a starter from us just to make the start in a potential play-in tiebreaker game?
  11. OW
  12. No, her NAME was UNLV Rebel Halfback. Odd, no?
  13. Picked a bad year to come out early, what with Payton Award finalist Miguel Maysonet eligible as well.
  14. I've always thought we should have more Mets with d-apostrophes in their name.
  15. Edgy MD wrote: Toilet House is correct. Thirty-one-year-old John Tudor threw up 10 shutouts for the 1985 Cardinals, despite having only thrown four to that date in his career, with only two more waiting for him in the future. ROIDS.
  16. Had to be someone who got traded midseason in the last ten years or so.

I'm gonna be presumptuous and guess that you probably discovered baseball and baseball cards around 1983. Because so many fans/collectors happen to think that the best baseball card set is the one that they first collected. That would be correct. Baseball in 1982, cards the following spring.
  18. I have mentally marked the 2032 Heritage set in my brain because I love the 1983 design so much.
  19. What a run that guy had from 1981-86. But in looking him up, I see that Fernando actually is wrong. (And that even though I was making a joke, I was right; he actually never had more than 8.) Jack Morris?
  20. I was thinking Fernanne Homerhorns. Knew that was wrong, though, because he never had more than eight.
  21. Grabbed a pack of this today and pulled the Harvey, actually. Very cool bonus feature: the backs of the cards have the "rub a nickel and get the trivia answer" spot. Well done, Topps.
  22. The one on the left is Bob Ojeda, the right is Keith's All-Star card. Both from the 1986 Topps set.
  23. I used to love watching spring games, because you got to see a bunch of guys you'd never regularly see. But now it's just no longer such a high priority, especially considering the few games I have watched, Gary/Keith/Ron/whoever mentally checked out with the starting lineup in the third inning and are only marginally telling us who these guys are.
  24. I'm thinking Mr. Seger needs to wear shirts with sleeves.
  25. Draft Day draws nigh. 3/13, 8:30ish EST?
