  4. Plus, Joe Nathan.

  6. Edgy MD wrote: Would be an interesting turn of events if the guy Dave Hudgens brought into the organization turns out to be his eventual replacement. On another note, when tracing links between generations, it'll someday be very interesting that Dilson Herrera once played with Bobby Abreu. He and Bartolo are Baseball Oracle gold. 8. Vic Sage wrote: i was there and Trops did ok... just well enough to lose. Yep. Four starts, all of them "okay." Probably not enough to break camp with the club next spring, but enough to be in the mix again.
  9. Ceetar wrote: Everyone's talking about loving to keep him around as a coach. Is that something he's talked about previously? I always wonder where this stuff comes from, and why he'd have any particular loyalty to the Mets of all the teams he's played for just because it's the last. They mentioned yesterday on the broadcast that Abreu was a rookie under Terry Collins too in Houston. He might have some loyalty there.
  10. Nick Tropeano makes his NYC debut tomorrow afternoon. Wish I could be there!
  11. Actually, it would be fun if the Mets held a year-long contest and the winner got to sign a one-day contract and get placed on the 40 for the last game of the year. Maybe they get an AB, maybe not; but it'd be fun.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: You know, I was thinking they should activate Teagarden for the last series, just because. I mean, who cares if he's home watching his home decorating shows at this point and hasn't faced live pitching in weeks, everybody carries three or more catchers in September, and it allows them not to get burned by late-inning maneuvering. But here's a better idea and they can do it without calling anybody up: Activate Dave Racianello. BRING ME THE HEAD OF JOE HIETPAS!
  13. Phil Hughes (@Twins) will NOT come back out for 9th inning. He is at 209 2/3 IP & gets a $500k bonus if he reaches 210 IP in 2014 OUCH.

  15. I just clicked on the hashtag and read through some of the tweets. They were about 100% disparaging. There were three positive tweets, however, and upon further review, I noticed that they were all from the same person. And there was this, too: Hey. We know both of those guys.
  16. On Darren's site: http://www.the7line.com/contact/ IM A GRAPHIC ARTIST AND HAVE AN IDEA FOR A SHIRT. DO YOU ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS? Yes. We are always up for hearing new ideas. There are plenty of creative Met fans in The 7 Line army and we would love to work with you. Email your ideas to info@the7line.com and we can get the ball rolling. You will be compensated for your work and will get credit in the item description.

  18. Edgy MD wrote: I'm excited by that field layout that allows for 175-foot homers down the right field line. Ike Davis: "Dammit."
  19. Ooh, I'm going to submit my resume, get the job, and then DESTROY THEM. "Are there more Uptons out there? We need to sign them. And let's get rid of these Kimbrel and Heyward characters."
  20. Darren sold out to the man a little while back, which is why he doesn't do anything blatantly offensive any more (like my old favorite, the "at least i'm not an a-hole" shirt). But it's great for him, because it looks like they give him largely free rein, and he can use official logos now.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: Sooner or later, this is going to blow up in somebody's face. Or everybody's face. What? It's not like the organization is under fire already for being demeaning to wom---- oh.
  22. Wonder if we could convince Darren Meenan to make a private batch for us. (Or, better, to produce them en masse and give Z a cut.)
