  1. https://twitter.com/cdorso/status/487311495479713792 Got a nice present on Twitter from Maxx Tissenbaum.
  2. Edgy MD wrote: It's cool, though I'd like to turn that on it's ear and give the .462 to Savannah and the .686 to the big club. Then let's just call everyone up! YOU get a major league debut and YOU get a major league debut and YOU get a...
  3. Edgy MD wrote: Well, if you're not gonna play, you damn well better be on the DL. If you get selected, but your team is all... sorry, man, he just pitched the day before the break... well, he forfeits his right to be called an All Star in my book. Man up and throw an inning. But This Time It Counts.
  4. Tweeted. (With a link to the Pool, of course.)
  5. If you're planning to give him a little breather anyway, why not do it now, when it'll minimally impact your team? You're not going to send him to Minnesota anyway, so why not just finagle your way through the break and then go back at it? Counting whoever pitched last night as "1", you can go 1-2-3-4-replacement leading up to the break, then go 1-2-3-4 and BAM it's fifteen days and he's back.
  6. BOOM. SUCK IT, REST OF BASEBALL.
  7. I didn't even think of the Tanaka MRI being an ASG-related hoax, but it could be. If he comes back in fifteen days, he only really misses one start. Fuckin' Yankees.
  8. To recap, for those who missed it: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19435
  9. Tom Veryzer, Long Island resident and 1982 Met.
  10. Edgy MD wrote: Oh, dear. Dan Uggla. .163?! The wheels have completely come off. May: 2-25, 7 K June: 1-14, 3 K July: 0-2, 2 K Yikes.
  11. There's always a dozen guys who rivera and beg out of the game. Just add him and let him feckin' play.
  12. I'm just going to answer "Saberhagen?" to all these quizzes now.
  13. I was going to guess Keef but he wouldn't have fit between Viola and LoDuca. And as I checked it, he only made it to five ASGs.
  14. Whoever our all-star was in 1962. Richie Ashburn?
  15. Didn't we just play the Braves? Shit. Let's win some fuckin' games, fellas.
  16. I wish ESPN had an MLB Trade Machine like their NBA one so you could play with combinations and see how they look.
  17. Spent the afternoon at Coney Island and caught the first five innings of Cyclones/Ironbirds before heading home. The Ironbirds scored sixteen runs in the first five and won 18-2. The Cyclones had five errors but they could easily have been credited with at least eight (we saw three uncredited misplays just in the five innings). It was ugly.
  18. I'll take the mini-bat and helmet for the MiniWolves. (Which reminds me, I was going to work on a mini-bat rack for my son.)
  19. All-Star Break Update! Majors: Nathan (Detroit): 4-2, 6.16 ERA, 17 saves. Hasn't been great, but has been more or less getting the job done. Koehler (Miami): 6-6, 3.48 in twelve starts. Made the Phillies look awful last night. AGAINST NL EAST: 58.1 IP, 2.31 ERA, 2.27 K/W. AGAINST EVERYONE ELSE: 45 IP, 5.00 ERA, 1.88 K/W. Faces the Mets next weekend. (Again.) Minors: Tropeano (AAA Houston): 6-4, 2.38 in 87 innings. His manager says he has "major league stuff." http://nwsdy.li/1mWMnhy Jankowski (AA San Diego -- DL): .254/.324/.299 in 75 PA. Still rehabbing from his wrist injury. Cantwell (AA Texas): .588 OPS in 145 AB. Has thrown out 17 of 40 on SB attempts. Tissenbaum (A+ Tampa): .311/.341/.430 in 193 AB. Selected to the league All-Star Team. Has eight passed balls in his first season catching. Campbell (A Dodgers -- DL): 1-1, 4.91 ERA in four starts, but a 2.018 WHIP. Still on the DL. Rakkar (A- Chicago): 14 ER in 10 1/3 innings across two levels this season. Urg. McNitt (A- Houston): 8 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 6 K in three relief appearances. Krause (A- Pittsburgh): .257/.357/.657 with three home runs in nine games (42 PA), five as C, four as DH. CALL HIM UP! Johnson (Oakland): hasn't started yet Carmona: .333 OPS in 85 AB with high-A Clearwater. Was released on May 23. Not currently playing anywhere as far as I can tell. (Hey, Ducks?)
  20. That would be the side benefit of rain tomorrow; I'd get to spend the day on my dad's pool table downstairs instead of dealing with my family.
  21. Hey, at least we can't lose today.
