  1. I'm intrigued by Moya's numbers, and he's only 22, but I'd pass on that, especially because we're still stuck with Tejada too, and he and Iglesias are basically the same guy.
  2. I honestly don't understand the love affair with Anthony Recker. I have zero attachment to him.
  3. I checked 2013 was all set to be like "who the heck is Aaron Laffey" until I looked him up and realized I was at the game he started at Citi Field.
  4. That's a trick question, since I don't remember Greg Burke at all.
  5. For Murphy and Colon, and the Mets eat the entire salary. MAKE IT HAPPEN, SANDY.
  6. "I miss you guys so much."
  7. Knew I should have applied for the Braves job.
  8. Omar drafted TWO Seawolves for San Diego, so he clearly still has a strong scouting eye. It'd be a solid move for the Yankees.
  9. I think that's the first quiz answer I've gotten right here in weeks.
  10. Mackey Sasser.
  11. So close, yet not so much. http://www.texashealth.org/body_secure.cfm?id=2311&action=detail&ref=6277 Me thinks there's a missing detail somewhere.
  12. I'm going to beat the Bring Back Jose drum all winter. Toronto owes him at least $70M ($22/$22/$22/$22 or a $4 buyout). Tell me why some combination of Colon/Gee/Niese/Murphy/Tejada/prospect doesn't get it done.

The mass market isn't there, and probably never will be again. Since I restarted collecting about ten years ago, I've gone in waves. I'm cutting back considerably.
  14. Parallels are colored variations, typically short-printed and/or numbered. In packs of this year's base Topps set, you can find red (at Target), blue (at Walmart), purple (at Toys R Us), yellow (in special "hanger packs"), green (in all the "retail" packs), "red hot," gold (numbered /2014), camo (numbered /99), black (/63, only available at baseball card shops), pink (/50), clear plastic stock (/10), and platinum (only 1 version made of each card). For example, some of the 2014 Topps Murph parallels: http://www.comc.com/Cards,so,vDetails,=2014+topps+mets+155 They can make you crazy, but can be fun too: https://twitter.com/cdorso/status/418041771088953344
  15. And Bobby Abreu, as already noted elsewhere here.
  16. I'd be afraid the small print would wash out on a shirt really quickly. A poster, however...
  17. http://metsblog.com/metsblog/lannan-teagarden-quintanilla-all-file-for-free-agency/ Lannan, Teagarden, Q all opt to become FAs, as per the internet.
  18. Lefty Specialist wrote: I never would have thought of Davegoatfonz Fourfourbaseball. Thank goodness; I thought I was the only one.
  19. I don't see a reason to keep Brown on the 40 either. I mentioned this somewhere around here the other day. Either: 1) Colon, Tejada, and one of these borderline but MLB-ready arms (Cory Mozzoni, say) to Toronto for Reyes, with them eating a small piece of his salary 2) Gee, Tejada, and one of these middle-range arms to Toronto for Reyes, with them eating more of his salary Jose's due $66M over the next three, plus a $4M buyout/$22M salary for '18. If Toronto will eat a third of that -- which means he's at $44M + the $4M buyout for 3 years ...
  20. I think Akeel Morris is a guy you have to figure out too, either as a trade chop or as protection.
  21. Preview for next week's episode: looks like Rocker shows his stripes, acts like a meathead.
