  1. Vientos looking league average too.
  2. They've got a tough road ahead. 23 games in the next 24 days. A rough September, and a harder schedule (strength of opponent wise) than virtually all of the other NL playoff contenders. I'm not optimistic but I hope I am wrong.
  3. Mark Clark and Brian Bohanon
  4. Lots of forgettable names on that list (at least to me): Toby Stoner, Elmer Dessens, Wilson Valdez, Brian Stokes.
  5. For years I commuted from Fairfield County (Soupcan, MFS62 and I were neighbors, I think) to within spitting distance of Shea. Then I got divorced and moved to Queens, only to have my job shifted to Staten Island. So I traded a 90-minute 55 mile commute, for a 90 minute 30 mile commute. Such is life.
  6. Edgy MD wrote: Nimmo is hot. Nimmo is, like, Daniel-Murphy-2015-post-season hot. He's pissed that he wasn't Schaeffer player of June.
  7. Personally not a fan of L&B Spumoni but different strokes for different folks. I'm more of a thin crust Grimaldis/Patsy's guy. I had the volume off so couldn't figure out why they showed that piece.
  8. Looking at those stat lines and trying to figure out how Nimmo got squeezed.
  9. You can keep Livvy Dunne, but that redhead next to her in the photo is smokin' '
  10. Rickey (by a lot). Then Cal, who would likely be a far better ambassador for the game in that role.
  11. I read that the Mets are 17-1 in the last 18 in which Francisco Alvarez appeared. If true, that's damn impressive.
  12. I disagree. His diving catch yesterday was clutch and he made a strong throw home to keep a baserunner at third in the eighth inning. The guy is a physical specimen.
  13. I'll be there with my daughter, looking forward to a good game and a great day. Happy Father's Day, all.
  14. I remember someone from the mid-80s--Pat Tabler? Tom Paciorek?---who had a ridiculous (like .450) BA with the bases juiced. Not sure how many HRs though

By comparison, Seth Lugo has 8 by himself (to go with a sub 1.75 ERA).
  16. 0/9 until today I think
  17. I was there with my daughters. The Bader game, henceforth. Really great day, $17 beers notwithstanding.
  18. As I posted elsewhere, they have scored one run or fewer in 25% of this year's games. That is....not good.
  19. The Mets have scored one run or fewer in 25% of their contests to date.
  20. I want to say Terry Leach went to Auburn. Or maybe it was Terry Blocker.
  21. Val Pascucci? Vinnie Pasquantino?
  22. Johnny Bench next to Keith?
  23. By the way, Sacramento can get dangerously hot --expect almost exclusively night games, like they have in Arlington, for the next three years.
