i'm pretty sure that was not a depleted uranium round. i mean, i'm no expert and i certainly don't recall them mentioning hte type of bullet in the movie, but i don't think they really make small caliber DU rounds. i think the bigger issue is that if you fall offf a train on a high bridge over a narrow river, your momentum is most likely to carry you into the rocky cliff on the near side as you'll maintain most of the same forward velocity as the train when you fell off it, despite whatever kick you received from the impacting projectile.

i saw most of these back when there was such a thing as a local video rental store that was not part of some nationwide abomination, and, well, i was a teenager. so i don't have the sharpest recollection of most of them, and what there is may be shaded by the reputation of hte movies and discolored by my own immaturity. for instance, i actually liked timothy dalton's a view to a kill. there was a sweet fire truck jump over a drawbridge there, right?

yeah, i must admit that i was struck by the smallness of hte villain's aims. like, the dude has tremendous computer skillz, has amassed quite a little empire for himself, and all he wants is to kill m? sure, he's done some very bad things along the way, but, sheesh, all we're really exposed to was his mommy issues. okaaayy...

i saw it with the wifey a week or so back. we both enjoyed it very much. i like that it had none of the goofiness of some bond eras. it's been a while since i saw a connery bond, so i'm not terribly able to compare the two. as such, i gave it a 4-star score. it might be better, it might not be, but it really is good. the main villain was excellent. i found hte plot mostly lacking in egregious holes or unnecessary globe-trotting. i thought hte hong kong bit was a touch overwrought and underexplained, but my biggest problem overall was the commuter train punching hole after hole in solid stone walls with nary a scratch or crumple, but, model-making - whatchagonnado. i suppose i should quibble at teh effetiveness of the armor afforded by the excavator in teh opening scene, but worse has surely been committed in teh cinematic stoppage of poorly-aimed bullets. very stylish overall, as you would expect.

it may well be the best cgi movie i've seen that didn't have the word pixar on it. granted, it did have the word lasseter, so there's that. it felt smart like a pixar flick, but not as deep as you would generally expect from them. not that it's a bad thing. it's no toy story (1 2 or 3) but then, what is? i gave it a 4.5/5, because its just so much fun. and while jack mcbrayer may only have one setting, that one setting is pure gold when all you need is a jack mcbrayer.

yes, but then so did the bot. at least you can relish the opportunity to drop him with vehemence. ... hmm... i think you'll need ceetar to designate clockwork as abandoned. i cannot apparently abandon the team myself. at least, i don't see the button anywhere.

i don't want the moral ambiguity of having to go through the arbitration process twice. i don't think it would be fair to let me assign arbitration dollars against myself (or to allow me not to assign arbitration dollars to myself on behalf of the new owner of the clockwork orange and blues). it also muddies the waters of how i would assign arbitration values to the rest of everybody, i should think.

i like the new arbitration process. it seems more equitable. i'm looking forward to figuring out how to run my team this offseason. also, i think it might be good to acquiesce control of the 'bot's team as soon as reasonably possible. so, we're doing this again next year, right? i just need to know so i can start agonizing over whether or not to retain my rights to the alpine albatrosses, or perhaps to go all-in with the bot. i [heart] my albatross pitching staff, but golly-gee-willikers, clockwork has some tremendous values on that roster. i think with an undivided attention span during hte draft, he'd be in good shape for next year. my team, well, there's some work my offense needs to do. i've got a lot of dollars tied up in not a lot of production.

open up sortable stats in another window, and select only your team, and the timeframe you care about. be nice if it was more slickly integrated, but it's good enough. pain in the ass when you've gotta manage two teams though...

i think my team is playing all of their games in citi field. the old citi field. only with higher outfield fences and way more fould territory. i have a great rotation and bullpen, but my god, my offense is abysmal. my team, with its 0.324 OBP and 0.426 SLG can barely out-produce daniel murphy.

it's definitely clunky and ugly, especially compared to espn and yahoo. and if we only do it for this year, it's going to suck. but i like the power of hte auction drafts and the minor league rosters and the machinations for the cap. i think it's really hard to say how it works until we get through the second year, but so far, a week in, i like it. it would be nice if player news was easier to get to, if at all, but whatev's. it's novel and new and way more hardcore than a casual yahoo thing. also, with the personal investment that each of us had towards the auction, it's hopefully less likely htat we'll have as much fallout as you might see in a typical yahoo league.
