  1. The 5 is fire. I love it. It’s exactly what I would’ve proposed. It’s based on the new signage for the nyc parkways. The real GCP has the unisphere where the ball is, also cut off. This is terrific. I was looking around for a photo of one in The wild and couldn’t find it or I would’ve proposed it earlier as a foundation. It’s new, it’s crisp. I love it. The subway signs are great too but I worry it’ll look too derivative - especially of the 7 line. Also… hasn’t it been done before? I feel like I’ve seen it before. Maybe not. But the GCM sign is fresh. It’s my clear winner. 3 is a distant second.
  2. It works for both. I think of grand central station first, not the parkway. I think we can nod towards both, to be honest. Iconographically the station has the deeper well. You can evoke the big ol’ windows in the grand concourse, or the clock. Or even the departure board. There’s a lot of there there. For the parkway you could draw from the road sign itself for a clean design, with a smaller sign graphic perhaps for exit 9E for citi field.
  3. The 7 line is the name of the subway route that stops at willets point station, and it seems to do pretty well for itself.
  4. Something like the Mets Pool could work, because a pool is a group of reporters. Like, the Mets press pool. Wade into the deep end for the forums. A nod to our own history and all that. Otherwise… Mets central Mets express Mets landing Mets connection Metslink Mets on my mind Mets forum Mets mezzanine Mets hub Mets bot farm But seriously though. If you google “Mets forum” and the names that come up have “Mets” and “forum” in the description isn’t that enough? Would a clever cheeky or interesting name draw more visits than literally just saying Mets? I don’t know seo and marketing clearly. And most of my humor is dad jokes at this point. Tying into collective team history à la Kranepool grounds the place more than “Mets [noun]” but yeah it might be a bit esoteric Hmm. Shea Bridge. Where Mets fans gather. I’m not very good at this.
  5. flushing dreams. like i said, i'm not good at this. Orange and Blue Baseball takeoffs in right field. On Point - Mets Baseball Seaver Way the wright place willets point station
  6. I went to school for engineering, so I’m great with words. Something organic that pulls on our history, that feels like we coulda named it back in the day or along the way. I dont have good ideas, just some thoughts. Kranepool Connection Kranepool corner Mets Magic Metropolitan Baseball Mets Grand Central From Shea to Citi Amazin’ Archive
  7. Oh boy it’s such a pretty day down there.
  8. My kids - especially ummL- loved his Mickey necklace. I loved his hard work and effort - and it seemed like he was a real leader on the team, especially with respect to trying to draw Juan Soto out of his shell. Much like granderson, he was so sneaky good when he was good, that I don’t think he’s really been as appreciated as he rightfully should be. At his best, full power, he was an excellent player. I’m glad he found a home. Hopefully he and Seth lugo can run deep into the playoffs.
  9. The Mets Crane Pool. Wade into the latest Mets news. Dive into the deep end in our forums. Mind the skinny dippers.
  10. Would it be so hard to become the Crane Pool Mets Forum?
  11. I’m sure it would be possible to share a contact list amongst ourselves. Or to post a bail out message either in super secret code or via dm
  12. Imai was the pitcher I was most interested in this year. We’ll see how smart I am or amn’t.
  13. Has anybody spent much time taking the temperature on the other sites Brock runs? If so, what do you see that you don’t like?
  14. I don’t care if edgy loses money on this forum or if Brock loses money trying to make money on this forum, so long as somebody is out there trying to facilitate my interactions with you fellow metly hill people. (Actually I care more that edgy - and all of our historical benefactors along the way - is losing money on us).
  15. Yeah and only out of networkily on the mlb network
  16. i'm spoiled. i want all the spring training games on the telly. not some ******** yankee app. just give me a live webcam. i'll be happy enough.
  17. The season is doomed if we don’t win this thing!
  18. Wow, kimbrels been around longer than I thought. XD
  19. Kimbrel feels like a hofer based on how unfathomably dominant he was with the braves. I feel like he’s probably had the depth of career to warrant it but relievers are tricky. I’m also positing this without looking at a single stat, so what do I know…
  20. so like, what would you be looking at in terms of a re-name?
  21. do we really have 40 active members? wow, that seems... high. I certainly come across as a little bit anti-growth, but cheez whiz, i feel like this forum is probably one or two key members away from shutting the doors for good. that scares the **** outta me. i find it hard to believe that if we were to suddenly throw in with mr brock beuachamp - if that is your real name - that the forum would instantly grow to thousands of idiots overnight. i'd be curious what the graphs of the other sites he's.... running(?)... would look like, but if it's steady growth then that ain't all bad. I'd be shocked if we were instantly inundated with waves and waves of mets fans. shocked. i mean, the first few visitors would certainly be leery of dipping their toes into the water. what with all us naked hill people swimming around. and no doubt we'd do our best to scare them off if they felt like they didn't belong. morons would take one look at this place and thing we weren't cool enough. but i like to think that the more thoughtful fans out there who might be actually interested in partaking in an old-school forum might be inclined to sit and stay a while, and maybe discuss the nuanced differences between fWAR and bWAR, or chat up how underappreciated lance johnson or mike cameron were, and that's ok by me. heck, maybe one day i dust off a certain skate key and a certain little WPA-lovin' tin box full of springs, cogs, and discarded vcr parts (sorry that's a lot of backstory) can find kinship with another probably made-up internet identity that may or may not actually be an axe-murderer (more backstory)... look, let's not all act like we don't take a look around each time we log onto this precious little corner of the world wide web and think to ourselves, how the everloving **** is this place still here!? it ain't gonna be around forever, if we don't try to do something. even if that something carries some risk. and... y'know... if somebody wanted to go ahead and scope out sergioferrarcompanion-dot-com as a super-secret doomsday backup plan that probably wouldn't be the worst idea, either. just in case... seriously. i was basically youngest among us when this place started out - well, at least after i was invited over from the dark place in the earliest of days - and much as i hate to say it, fifty looms large in the near future. i ain't a kid anymore. and i'm pretty sure i'm still on the younger side of the median age here. we gotta do something to keep this place vital.
  22. Is Nate lavendar dark horseable?
  23. I think the real important question is, would we be bringing back the annual song parody contest? And… these prospective new users that could be brought in to liven things up… are they any good at wordle? Because the competition is already too damn stiff over here. Jeez.
