    Deikman has played for 9 teams, and immediately displays why he's moved around so much.

    Hopefully now they can settle down a bit. Butto looked impressive, and I'm sure he'll get another turn in the rotation after that performance. But Zimmo and Lindor? Woof. At least Brandon walks occasionally, but Francisco looks lost up there right now.

    1. What will the Mets' record be? 70-92 2. Predict the NL East standings from 1 to 5: ATL, PHI, MIA, WAS, NYM 3. Will the Mets make the playoffs (if so, as the division champ or 1st, 2nd, or 3rd WC)? Ha! No. 4. If so, how far will they go? N/A 5. Who will be the World Champion? Braves 6. Number of regular season HRs for Pete Alonso: 40 This pitching staff will be an unmitigated disaster. They'll be out of contention by Memorial Day. The 'Step-back' year will be more of a Moonwalk.

    Well, this is a vote of no-confidence in Vientos. They're both righties so there's no platoon situation. Just hope JD doesn't statistically morph into a skinny Vogelbach.

    Problem is, it very often takes a detour into prison time.

    I was leaning toward Davis, but now I'd Judiciously Decline. JD Martinez just seems like the kind of signing Brodie Van Wagenen would do, and it would blow up in our faces. He's been good a long time, but the Mets have a knack for catching good ballplayers just as they fall off a cliff. Stearns seems to not want to spend a lot of Unka Steve's money this winter, so if this is a 'let the kids play' season, JDM doesn't make a lot of sense.

    Ji-Man appears to be Korean for 'Vogelbach'. But when he hits 'em, they stay hit. Murphy isn't as bad as I feared. But he's got a lot of work to do to be a smooth broadcast presence.

    Problem is, the Mets had a #1 in Senga, a #3 in Quintana, and a bunch of #5's. They're not going to weather this well.

    This is a real test of 'Will David Stearns stay the course?'. Montgomery or Snell would be a panic move, and Boras can smell panic like a bloodhound. If this is truly a 'punt' year, than they won't be any more likely to sign them than they were before. But this team will be well and truly hard to watch.

    Would have been interesting to see what kind of player he would have been if he was 50 or so pounds lighter. Alas, the cheeseburgers got in the way. I also thought that his swing was designed to navigate around the Cape of Good Fat.
