  1. Well, that was some sweet crunchy goodness.
  2. Just an awesome sequence. Green comes out, tells Thornton to go get 'em. Thornton then gets a DP and screams "Fuck yeah! Fuck yeah!" as he goes apeshit on his way into the dugout. Fun stuff.
  3. That's all right, Carson Benge has got you covered.
  4. Soto kinda loafed after that ball....
  5. McLean not sharp at all. Can't pitch behind in the count in The Bedpan.
  6. Ya know, after rackytacking Alcantara for 7 runs, they better not lose this game. Opportunities like that don't come along very often.
  7. And a little dork is the first hit off Manaea. Gary had studiously avoided using the word 'no-hitter'. But now the wheels seem to falling off a bit for Sean.
  8. This. So much this. They should be giving all their Crash Davises and Moonlight Grahams their shot. Was easier in the days of unlimited September callups, but still. Dylan Ross has been through a lot and that clean inning in The Show means the world to him.
  9. Peralta pitching like the Mets wished he would have FOR them, rather than AGAINST them.
  10. Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburgers for everybody!
  11. The surprise wasn't that he was put on waivers- lots of players get put on waivers this time of year. Yeah, the surprise was that he was picked up. So Nick Morabito is eligible for post-season play. Good for him./s
  12. This Stock is dropping fast.
  13. That's crazier than I'm comfortable with. But Lavender sure smells good.
  14. About time for the annual Seinfeld appearance, methinks.
  15. So I'm pointlessly wondering. Does Luis Robert make that catch? He knows the park well and is a competent outfielder with speed. And he's 4 inches taller than AJ Ewing. Like I said, pointlessly wondering.
  16. Foof. Setting themselves up for the nut-crushing loss.
  17. They adjust to you, and you adjust to them. Been going on for 150 years. I'm confident Ewing will figure it out, and yeah, he's only 21. Alvarez is another problem though. He's had plenty of major league time and he seems to keep getting into bad habits, like swinging at pitches up in his eyes and down and away. He seemed to figure it out for a bit, but he's back to his free-swinging ways.
  18. So I'm thinking that Torrens needs to be the starter and Alvarez needs to be the backup.
  19. 1. I'd give it a zero if I could. Last night he did it on a strikeout-that-wasn't-a-strikeout. Oh, then he gave up a game-losing home run. Pitchers can be demonstrative, but this is waaaaay over the line. And he's not that good; how about being a better pitcher instead of being a buffoon? Maybe he can learn that in Syracuse, which I expect is where he'll be headed shortly. And no, I'm not against celebrating. Pitchers can pump their fists and scream. Batters can flip bats and do celebrations when they hit a dinger. But Yan is cartoonish. Say you're down 8-1 in the 9th and Yan does that after a meaningless strikeout. Does it pump you up? Or is it just ridiculous?
  20. So he walks the first two batters and you swing at the first pitch?
  21. I like a Polanco-less lineup. A Semien-less lineup would be even better butcha can't have everything.
  22. Pleeeeeeeeease sit Jorge Polanco down. He's hopeless.
