  1. Reason #12359 why I love Keith Hernandez: When A-Rod wimps out and gets tagged by Tejada on the basepaths, Keith says, "Where's the purse?"
  2. When the Mets traded for Mike Piazza, my son was 2 1/2. He grew up thinking that Mike Piazza was eternal- to him, he had always been there. When he outgrew a Piazza shirt, we got him a bigger one. When Mike finally departed in 2005, he was 10, and deeply rooted in his Met-ness. But it stung him that a part of his young childhood was suddenly gone. I knew Piazza had declined, that there was no room for him going forward. But my rational thinking was no match for the childish thought that some things should be permanent. It was his rough introduction to the fact that baseball is a business.
  3. I'll go out on a limb here and say they're not going to score 16 runs today.
  4. It's kinda scary watching a Met team that can't do anything wrong.
  5. 6-7. The Magic .500 mark must not be broken. Those 3 games at Citi will essentially be road games as the crowd will be full of Yankme fans. I'm just glad Captain Crankycalf won't be there to pursue his Vision Quest.
  6. They can't pass up on these chances to add on. A 6-2 lead early isn't secure in the slightest.
  7. Little-known fact: Keith Hernandez is deathly afraid of bees. :
  8. Geez, if he was a horse, they'd take him out behind the barn and shoot him.
  9. They didn't show the tomato garden.
  10. Ariel Mercedes. Gotta love a guy with not one, but TWO women's names. Bet he got beat up a lot in grade school.
  11. Wow, these guys make the Mets look like the Lumber Company. And that's not easy to do.
  12. Eh, I hit the men's room and let him know how I really feel.
  13. Michael Milken in the booth. I guess he's used to sharing small rooms with other men.
  14. I don't want Met fans be forced to applaud a hated rival, like POW's forced to make propaganda videos for their captors.
  15. Well, I kinda knew we were in trouble when after that first strikeout K-Rod pointed into the Atlanta dugout and squawked, "PAYS THE DOCTORS, BOYYYYYY!!!!!!"
  16. Hey! Extra baseball! Thanks, Frankie!
  17. Well, there goes the no-hitter. Again.
  18. Fman99 wrote: Frankie punching out batters like they were inlaws. I choked on my Pepsi at this.
  19. George Sherrill looks like the town drunk in a bad '60's sitcom.
  20. Chanting "Don't Trade Reyes"....I love it.
  21. That Moylan picture will haunt my dreams.
