  1. I used to be the videographer for my son's team's soccer games. I got very good at being able to hold the camera at the correct angle so that I didn't have to look through the viewfinder to see the action, or at worst I was splitting my vision. So it can be done, I guess.
  2. The sizable Sandoval I guess they didn't want to use 'The Ponderous Panda'.

  4. I never would have thought of Davegoatfonz Fourfourbaseball.
  5. Ballsy move by Buck, going against the book there. That's having faith in your players to execute.
  6. What a concept. A team down 6-3 in the 8th inning comes back to win. Be nice to see that at a Met game occasionally. Oh, and Joba still sucks.
  7. Oakland Scott Kazmir (never a Met, but a Met property --- anybody remember how we lost him?) It was real crowded in the Mall that day, and Jim Duquette was distracted by the fall fashion mannequins in the window at Macy's. When he turned around......little Scotty was GONE!!
  8. So is the downtown residential population of Kansas City.
  9. Autumn looks like she takes crap from nobody.
  10. Ha. Joba still sucks.
  11. There are more times where the manager strolls out to the first-base umpire, all the while looking at his bench coach to see if they should challenge a play. That probably happens three times as much as actual challenges. Get rid of that little bit of kabuki theater, and you'll probably cut a few minutes off each game.
  12. Hefner hurt himself in rehab and I believe is going to have another TJ surgery or quit altogether. He's completely off the radar at this point.

And who can like what the Nationals did to the Mets this year? So, it has to be the Cards. Grudgingly. Later Ick. Screw the Cardinals. Anything but them and their 'best fans in America'. I can live with the Nats winning it-once. But I think the Royals would be awesome. It would give hope to long-suffering fans everywhere (looks in mirror).

When Jeff Probst, the host, mentioned that he lost to his girlfriend, he said "I lost to a girl." Other cast members have figured out who he is and what he said in SI. Artificially enhanced? Well, it certainly couldn't be to her intelligence. Was he executed? That's how these things go, right?

  16. Plus, Kansas City has a 92% downtown residential occupancy rate. And the entire country of South Korea rooting for them.
  17. Tigers are guilty of making me annoyed at them for being a team so easy to beat that the Mets could easily have been 2006 World Champions. A pox on them and their 90% downtown residential occupancy rate.
  18. Since it's a lefty up in the fictitious scenario, Terry would go to Edgin, who'd strike Moss out on 4 pitches.
  19. You know, after last night, it's hard not to root for the Royals.
  20. Well, that's kinda cool. Become a citizen, then go out and win your 15th game. Watch them trade him to Toronto now.
  21. Maybe Sandy shouldn't have been so hasty about saying Terry was coming back.
  22. He can't play all 162 anyway, so you rest him against the toughest lefties. Soup will be served that day.
  23. Edgy MD wrote: So, has anybody else found John Franco's act to be as awful as I have? Mumbles half-baked jock cliche platitudes in New Yorkese with no regard for the pacing. "What I've notice this year, Howie, is de Mets are afraid tuh brush people back." Franco is very Jeteresque in that he always seems so conscious of a certain pre-constructed image in projecting his personality that he has very little personality left. Franco is flat-out awful. But he's a Jeffy favorite, so I suspect we'll be hearing more from him, unfortunately.
