Padres blog Gaslamp Ball is all over this as was Keith Olbermann last night. http://www.gaslampball.com/2014/8/27/6075395/bud-seligs-history-or-lack-thereof-in-san-diego
As with everything Mets related, you have to wonder if this is money related because it also removes the need for acquiring an established LF while putting much lower-priced players at C and LF. I hope that this is motivated by other reasons (finding a place for Pawlecki to play; moving d'Arnaud to a place where fewer balls are coming at him; protecting d'Arnaud's head).
It would be nice if d'Arnaud could catch the ball given that he's a catcher. And Murphy should have made that play. SNY guys said "tough chance for Murph." BS.

Great point G-Fafif. The Mets have been using AAA as 26th, 27th and 28th members of the roster for awhile. How about Matt Reynolds? Let's see him backup Flores and Murphy for the rest of the season.
I'm rooting for anyone but the Nationals in the NL. I don't care if it's the Braves or the Cardinals because I don't live in Atlanta or St. Louis. AL: anybody but the MFYs. I'd like to see Trout in the Series (even though his manager brings back bad memories).
I concur with Gwreck. The Mets are getting there but do not have a major league SS at present or on the horizon. FA or a trade are the only ways to get one for '15. Perhaps the Mets will try for another short term solution in LF next year while they wait for Nimmo or Conforto but SS is the #1 priority.
