  1. Nate Silver says "send him!": http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/send-alex-gordon/
  2. batmagadanleadoff wrote: But it looks like the Mets just ain't interested in getting him. Probably 'cause the owners heads would explode if they hafta eat Terry's guaranteed 2015 salary on top of paying Maddon's price. And prolly 'cause Maddon's got the bona fides that he ain't gonna be intimidated by the little dipshit that's running the Mets more and more with each passing day. Bravo!
  3. Good analysis of Matt Williams' handling of the bottom of the 7th: http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/matt-williams-nationals-manager-nlds-game4-bullpen-100814 Does anyone think that Terry would have acted differently (and not said "this is the way we've done it all year")? BTW, Aaron Barrett got the win on Opening Day (which I'd blocked out): http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_03_31_wasmlb_nynmlb_1&mode=recap&c_id=nym#gid=2014_03_31_wasmlb_nynmlb_1&mode=box
  4. Raise a Natty Boh and go O's!
  5. He's still on the show, despite his comments. If you saw his gf, you'd know what I mean: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BwEDTQBCMAAn2xN.png
  6. Come on Giants! Do it for your long suffering fans. No? Then do it for me, especially on Saturday night when I attend break fast (it's a Jewish thing) at the home of a Nationals season ticket holder.
  7. On last night's episodes (#2), Rocker lost a challenge to his artificially enhanced girlfriend. When Jeff Probst, the host, mentioned that he lost to his girlfriend, he said "I lost to a girl." Other cast members have figured out who he is and what he said in SI.
  8. I accept 1/4 of the title for 2014.
  9. "Derek, after all the playoff games that you played in, what advice do you have for the players playing in their first post-season?"
  10. I fear that we will see Jeter throw out the 1st pitch at a WS game. Or at least someone else will see it because I will change the channel.
  11. STL already yanked their Wainwright. Wainwright v Kershaw on Friday.
  12. Great break for STL because they can sit Wainwright.
  13. It just seems like yesterday that the Mets were blowing the lead against Washington on Opening Day. Here's to an off-season that brings us a power hitting corner OF'er. Here's the "thank you" video. A few funny things in there. http://m.mlb.com/nym/video/v36620081/mets-players-and-coaches-thank-the-fans-in-2014/?c_id=nym&partnerId=ed-8716407-743762913 (Too bad the fake backdrop for Harvey wasn't MSG or MFYS.)
  14. Nice to see Lucas smile.
  15. Whatever. It looks like we root for a second place team.
  16. Agreed. Franco might be worthy of a spot on the post-game show but he is not a good color man, even with Howie's guidance.
  17. My point, Edgy, is that I think that the manager clears all of his actions with the GM or a member of the GM's staff. That's all. It was sarcasm, not a crack directed at you, and I'm sorry if it seemed that way.
  18. I don't believe that Terry moves his bowels without Sandy's permission but you can think what you want to think. Again, this isn't a big deal except when you consider that they didn't find the time to honor the '73 NL Champs and can't be bothered to build a Seaver statue.
  19. The manager starts Abreu and plans on taking him out mid-game to get an ovation. He's had a wonderful career but I don't give a flying frig about him. The Mets reluctantly made a team museum, won't make a Seaver statue, and refused to have a ceremony honoring the 40th anniversary of the NL Champs but for Abreu they have a sense of history.
  20. Piazza's wife. Oh not THAT kind of beard.
  21. http://nypost.com/2014/09/22/hypocritical-jeter-always-somehow-comes-out-on-top/ He always wins. Even when his on-the-field performance hurts his team. Even when he flirts with lines he always made sure not to cross. He is that good at being a public figure.
  22. seawolf17 wrote: Ooh, I'm going to submit my resume, get the job, and then DESTROY THEM. Sounds like Glavine.
  23. A wonderful game. That may be it in '14 for deGrom but he was deLightful and deLovely (how about that old reference?).
  24. "Bless you, BJ"... religion/porn crossover?
