  1. https://suno.com/song/7ccdc72c-0231-4b64-a73f-5634eb119fea AI song about David Stearns. Don't listen if you like Stearns or hate AI. I found it somewhat cathartic. (I didn't make it.)
  2. Stearns went to Japan to scout Munetaka Murakami. Murakami plays 1B. Stearns chose not to sign him. The Mets have had 4 different 1B this year and have hit a total of 19 HRs. Murakami has 11.
  3. I'm not doing it but I will transfer "control" to anyone who wants it. Send me a DM.
  4. I won't be playing in the CPF league this year and am listed as the Commissioner. If you want to take it over to keep it going, let me know and I'll transfer the reins to you.
  5. This is the most the Dodgers have screwed over New York since 1957.
  6. Fangraphs on Murakami:
  7. I still feel this same way.
  8. If necessary, I recommend signing up for Mets Fix on Substack. It costs $, but you get a great newsletter every morning (with information, not just clips and reposts), and it has a companion chat where we can continue this dialogue.
  9. Another disappointing outcome from the 2025 Mets season.
  10. "Bad Sign" got one of my votes for being prescient.
  11. The Mets hired their former manager’s son… but why is ATL a better job for Richardson than the Mets (unless he has a connection to Walt Weiss or ATL)?
  12. Where's Keith?
  13. "The Year of Juan!" is a beauty.
  14. Sorry, BG. I don't visit here every day and my "TCD Newsletter" (Patreons Only) mistakenly went to my Spam Folder.
  15. I thought the same thing. At least add three dots after "Will".
  16. My stomach is in knots. I took a Motown cycling class to try and clear my head. At the end, the instructor played "My Girl". I know that it's obvious and predictable, but I'll take it as a good omen.
  17. Mauricio looking like a guy who has not played in weeks. So there's that. How Stearns has handled Mauricio this year is one (just one) of the issues of '25. Mauricio didn't play in '24 and missed all of ST. He played 19 games in the minors and was called up in June. If a player is a top prospect and misses that much time, he should be playing every day, but as we know, he has played very little for a long time. The theory is that they are preserving a minor league option for '26, but really, who cares when you have to win now? He should have been getting "reps" at Syracuse instead of not playing. We see that he can't bat righty, even though he is a switch hitter, so again, why wasn't he playing every day in Syracuse? Instead, he sat on the bench, and his lack of playing time might have contributed to his brain fart (baseball lingo) on Friday, as covering the bag should have been instinctual. BTW, that was a position on the roster that could have been given to Iglesias--he would have covered third.
  18. Let's congratulate Country Squires (Chris S) on winning the league! Since we don't have playoffs, he's clinched the title. Congratulations, Chris!
  19. 2 trips to the West Coast in April, one in May, and one in June but (as stated above), that's it for late night games.
  20. Thank you for listening and the good wishes!
  21. gwreck: I wasn't being nostalgic: I was saying that he's a hypocrite because inter-league play requires more travel and if he wanted less travel, he's go back to an unbalanced schedule. He won't do that, of course, so Ohtani can be seen in "your town" at least once every two years. As FK said, this is for the owners, not the players. It's a misdirect.
  22. Manfred was full of it when he said that he wanted to cut down on travel to protect the players, because if that was important, there wouldn't be inter-league play and the schedule would have more games in your division. When we were a lot younger, the Mets played 18 games vs. the East, 12 vs. the West, and made 2 WC trips. We now have a "balanced" schedule with 4 West Coast-ish trips, including the occasional one-game trip (the Mets had to travel to St. Louis last year for a makeup game and had a one-game trip this past Sunday night). So don't make this sound as if it's being done for the players--it's being done to make rich people more money.
  23. It could lead to a division with Mets, NYY, PHI, and BOS. "Think of the rivalries!" Manfred will say. Do you want to play the Yankees more than 6 times? I don't even want to play them 6 times. Plus, there will likely be numerous "Wild Cards" so the Mets would be competing against teams in divisions with low budgets and/or expansion teams for the same Wild Card spots.
  24. Remember when FOX showed a guy pouring milk over his head to celebrate a Mets run? That was a paid actor set-up by FOX to promote the Indy 500.
