My first and last Mets game of '14 will be Tuesday night at MFN park (section 113, row H). I'll have the pleasure of sitting amidst the smug, unknowledgeable, frontrunning MFN fans. Why am I subjecting myself to this? Because I can't go a whole season without at least one Mets game and it's a chance to hang out with a friend and fellow Mets fan.

Holy crap, there's a 90 second Gatorade commercial where Jeter, in part, cavorts with regular people, as we hear Frank sing "My Way." At the end, he tips his cap at NMFYS. I didn't watch the whole thing because I couldn't. I won't link to it on principle.

DD: I agree that this is the likely path so why didn't the Mets settle before this was filed? From one article, her attorney is not a publicity seeker so she would have sought a settlement. Is it possible the Wilpons think they can beat these charges? Are the Wilpons just stupid (let me rephrase: stupid off the field, too)?

There is no demand. I am surprised that the Wilpons didn't settle but maybe they didn't have the money or maybe they think that they can't win.

Here we go, our periodic humiliation from the team I despise the most in the National League. How about beating them at least once during these for games? That would be a nice change. The front-running is rampant in DC as the locals are proudly wearing the clothing with the Walgreen's symbol (you don't get that in NY which has Duane Reede). I have tickets for the 9/23 game in DC--my fear is that becomes the night when the Nationals clinch the NL East. I hope that by then they have started a collapse so they can't clinch that night. Oh yeah, Bob Carpenter sucks.

Abreu is getting called up. What is the purpose of giving him any ABs at this point in the season? Since 40-Man roster is so precious, how can they find a spot for Abreu but not for Matt Reynolds who earned a callup.
