Great move. They needed power and a lefty bat and they have both in Granderson. Well done.

Mike Piazza Jeff Kent Frank Thomas Craig Biggio Greg Maddux Tim Raines Curt Schilling Edgar Martinez Jack Morris. No Hernandez, no Mattingly. Clemens can go to hell. Gl@v!ne will get in eventually but I don't want it to be at the same time as Maddux.

I hope that Sandy can get a good prospect for him next August.

I looked at Amazon's upcoming baseball books and did not find "They Call Me Cowgill: My Months With The Mets" or any other books about the 2013 Mets. I did find four book that I am pretty sure will not be read by the members of the CPF: http://www.amazon.com/The-Closer-ebook/dp/B00EXTQVKM/ref=sr_1_14?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1382975265&sr=1-14 http://www.amazon.com/Core-Four-Yankees-Dynasty-ebook/dp/B00CCTUU9S/ref=sr_1_63?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1382975338&sr=1-63 http://www.amazon.com/Facing-Mariano-Rivera-Players-Greatest/dp/1613216394/ref=sr_1_101?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1382975385&sr=1-101 http://www.amazon.com/Becoming-Mr-October-ebook/dp/B00CCPIKRG/ref=sr_1_176?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1382975448&sr=1-176

Nice job JCL and Edgy. Next up, Howie during a rain delay: "let's send it back to the studio for 'Best of Rush''.

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: But between Rush, Hannity, those 2 douches, etc., Mets will be surrounded by right-wing buffoons. We now root for a team which will have these station IDs during the game: "Rush Limbaugh 10 to 1 on the radio home of the Mets, 710 WOR, New York."

Holy crap: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2013/10/17/cardinals-growing-weary-of-dodgers-dont-care-for-antics/3005639/ The Cardinals' mission is clear: Beat the Dodgers, and send them back to Disneyland, where their escapades can be appreciated. The Cardinals will take the stage at the World Series, representing the National League, and reminding the baseball world that old-school tradition remains alive and well. "This is a big responsibility,'' Matheny says, "we've got a lot to take care of.''

It's not even November, 2013 and the 2014 Mets calendar already has an ex-Met.

Prince Fielder getting booed by the fans and slammed by this columnist: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20131018/SPORTS0104/310180051/1004/ I thought that the first comment was worth reading.

Russo also said that the Mets were being cheap for only paying Collins $1 million a year. He said something like "he's the manager of a New York team, pay him like a New York manager."

Agreed Edgy. Tovar looks good. Meanwhile, why couldn't Terry use Gee for this inning so that Gee could get his 200th IP? Gee said that this was important to him.
