  1. Jeez, even Alex Torres' giant helmet wouldn't prevent a pop to the face. Hope the guy's alright. Scary.
  2. Centerfield wrote: I still think Plawecki can be good. If we can get a glove guy who guns down baserunners to back him up I'd be ok with that. I think that is Nido, right? I keep hearing good things about his arm. I'm hopeful Plawecki becomes the guy who always hit in the minors, but I would definitely be shaking all the catcher trees at the same time.
  3. I wanted to vote for 89 but it's so generic.
  4. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Mickey has said that Lagares will get all starts against lefty starters. That would mean that either Bruce or Conforto would sit. (Or Cespedes, I suppose, if he needs a rest.) Or Gonzalez, too, apparently. I missed that bit of news, thanks.
  5. So are Conforto and Lagares platooning now or?
  6. Well, Mike Plawecki will def be behind the dish again. RIP Travis d'Arnaud's UCL (pun intended).
  7. Does that Ehalt guy have his finger on the pulse? Or he just the fastest tweeter-er? Suxxx for Travvy. Miguel Montero just cut loose by the Nats. Who's to say if he's even better than Nido.
  8. Fman99 wrote: Opportunity for the sweep presenting itself. Dan Wheeler on the bump. Wonder if that Mike Plawecki guy is behind the dish again?
  9. my stuff: -Agreed that the lone lefty worry is worrisome, we can't always ask Lugo to get Bryce Harper out. -Frazier has played mostly nice D (blown DP brain fart aside) and drawn 9 walks, but he's still looked crappy at the plate. If Frazier, Bruce, and Gonzo are all struggling at the same time, we're gonna suck a little bit. -Robles has good numbers, but watching him makes me feel like he hasn't been nearly as good. Just me? Swarzak, come back! -The two-headed catching monster of Td'A and KP are now OPS'ing .650 and .571 respectively. One of em's gotta go good, right? right!? I'm just to geeked at these early banked wins, wins in games we should win, and some we probably shouldn't. when the inevitable slide comes, if we can just be .500 from here on out, we're already at 85 wins. I'd think we're a little better than that, though.
  10. this guy blows [tweet:jer3dz31] [/tweet:jer3dz31]
  11. Edgy MD wrote: The layout of the 2009 cover is visual reference to the much-reviled Citi Field Dominos logo. Devoting so much space to the blue and orange fields from that logo and so little to the player photos is pretty much sinful. Ah, yes. The reference suxxx, too.
  12. I'm trying to think if I've ever seen that 71 before. I don't remember the "REVISED EDITION" stamp. Awesome photo. The triangles and all the unused blue and orange space on the 2009 cover don't do anything for me. Like, why isn't that Citi Field logo in the lower right triangle larger? Weird one.
  13. Mets need to grind out some sound defense. Ugly tonight.
  14. For real? I hope his demotion comes with a first base mitt. This suxxx for Zimmo.
  15. Probably, right? It's easy to forget he's on the team.
  16. Matt Ehalt of the Record is reporting Oswalt is getting recalled. No word yet on who is hurt/getting the boot. Discuss. [tweet:ufwv9p37] [/tweet:ufwv9p37]
  17. Fman's really been in the zone. He's seeing the threads well.
  18. 2 ugly wins in a row, but so nice to bank these wins. Only 80 more W's to secure a wild card!
  19. That is act 1 of ceetar's wet dream to have David Wright morph into the AI for the first self-driving car.
  20. The fish kinda go like this: 1B - Justin Bour, we know 2B - Starlin Castro, we know SS - Miguel Rojas, 29-years old, I don't know shit about him 3B - Brian Anderson, solid minor league numbers, big right handed bat, off to a great start so far (.876 OPS) LF - Derek Dietrich, veteran bat, jut took the leadoff spot from Lew Brinson CF - Lew Brinson, former top prospect from Milwaukee, acquired for Christian Yelich. He's struggling bad so far, but huge tools (that's what she said) RF - Cameron Maybin, talented former Padre, Tiger (other teams?). Lots there, but never really put it together C - Chad Wallach (Tim Wallach's kid maybe?) Hitting .095, I feel like he suxxx, so he will probably get 6 hits in the series Monday's starter - Jose Urena. Their "ace". Allows too many baserunners, doesn't strike out enough dudes to undo the first thing. Tuesday's starter - Caleb Smith, hard-throwing righty. Acquired from the MFY in the Stanton trade (I'm pretty sure). Talented but raw. Wednesday's starter - Jarlin Garcia, don't know shit about this guy either ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Their closer is Brad Ziegler. I want to not see this dude appear in the series at all. Seriously, we should draw a ton on walks and kick the shit out of this AAA team.
  21. I don't know if Rosario was sick or what, but Reyes got just 3 ABs in the first 5 games. I think Mickey wanted to try to get him going so he isn't a slug for the first 2 months like last year. Plus give Amed a day off against a tough righty.
  22. She looks ready to mash.
  23. That was immensely satisfying.
  24. YASSSSSS JAY BRUCE, GRAND SALAMMO
  25. Dang, Conforto looks great. Crushing balls to the opposite field and taking pitches just off the plate. Looks so locked in already.
