1. Bring that RA Dickey guy in for an audition.
2. Matt Harvey is a turd. We can Shirley all agree on this.

BUT, it also looks like he's not hitting his spots as often in 2018. 2015: 2018: At first glance you'd kinda like the 2018 heat map right? seems like he's painting corners a little more? No, not really. 2015 Harvey seems to work both sides of the plate, and the top and the bottom, working the edges while staying in the strike zone. 2018 Harvey looks like he's missing more in to the lefty side of the plate and isn't seeming to work the high strike or the right hand side of the plate much at all. Maybe to NYMR's point, he's trying to be out of the strike zone to avoid contact. I don't know. If "his spot" in 2k18 is more low toward the lefty side of the plate, then yah, his command is great.

5. MLB StatCast statistics are pretty interesting. Adrian's SLG % is just .360, but his expected SLG (based on exit velocity and launch angle) is a whopping .565. Only Nimmo has a greater difference between actual and expected SLG. Maybe there's more to come from Adrian yet.
6. ON FIRE. He has appearances and first and second, but has mostly played third. He came up as a shortstop, so he's clearly versatile. Hope he gets a cup of coffee one day.
7. Kid's off to a bit of an underwhelming start at Vegas, hitting .281/.349/.368 (.718) with zero homers so far. But the PCL heals all hitters' wounds, so as long as he plays, I'm not too worried about those numbers staying down. Do the thing, young man.
8. First update of '18 and even though poor Dale is back at high A at the age of 22, his his OPS this season is ~150 points higher this year than his career OPS. He is scorching St. Lucie opponents to a .240./345/.440 clip. That's great for him! Keep it going, sonny boy!
9. JAY BRUCE SUCKS!!!!!
10. Sadly don't see him flourishing either way, and I guess I don't see him being an indistinguishable middle reliever guy. I think he'll have moments of goodness in the pen, but is too stubborn and proud and dickish to get through the bad ones. I don't think they'll cut him, though.
11. Yup, it's an evening to get out in the garden, or go out to dinner and love on our partners. Act like normal people for a night!
12. I'm dumb on transaction stuff, but if Harvey has options (which I think he prob does), the Mets could simply demote him without exposing him to waivers, no?
13. Vegas, baby. Vegas.
14. Centerfield wrote: Fastball: Shot Breaking pitches: Shot Control: Shot Being a Dickhead: Mid season form. Yepp. Trying to imagine how that conversation would go with any other player. They're all pros and they want to play every day, of course. I'm certain Reyes still wants to play every day, but at least he knows he sucks right now and accepts his role. Throw Harvey's ass in the pen. Let him try to hit mid-90s for an inning and sniff success again. Or be playing for the Long Island Ducks in 2 years. Whatever, dude.
15. Would be nice to hear a "whatever's best for the team" here, but it's Harvey. [tweet:33vrzq05] [/tweet:33vrzq05]
16. I got in this year cause somebody bailed at the last minute. Not sure the turnover rate around here, but would prob have to be a similar situation!
17. I know it's cold and all, but Harv's average FB velocity is 92.6 per Fangraphs. If nothing else, we know the spring training guns were definitely on the juice.
18. Good gawd, that AJ Griffin season stat line! And I feel like Bryce Brentz is gonna be a hall of fame caliber slow-pitch softball guy one day soon.
19. Sometimes I think there's separation at the top (today!) but, like, 2 days ago, someone else was in first by 6 points. How long til it becomes more of a boat race and then daily points changes aren't so volatile?
20. what a great photo. I mean I know he'd be worse than Adrian Gonzalez, but, like, how much? And we all know he's better than Jay Bruce, cause everyone is. [tweet:222yif9a] [/tweet:222yif9a]
21. I'm just here to say that Keith Hernandez is making Twitter "a thing to look at" for me. [tweet:2uxszeyx] [/tweet:2uxszeyx] [tweet:2uxszeyx] [/tweet:2uxszeyx]
22. I love that I can't figure who looks happier to be in that photo, Comey with the Wu-Tang, or Meth with Comey? It's clearly a tie.
23. The guy with 4 hits yesterday? He plays. His base running boner was instinctual and aggressive and completely stupid. But it wasn't lazy or apathetic. Shit happens.
24. Nothing abnormal about this at all: [tweet:3d9agb78] [/tweet:3d9agb78]
25. Jesus Christmas, that Bryce Harper homerun. The reaction of Trea Turner was the same as all of us, I bet. Broken bat bomb aside, Jake looks amazing. LGM.
