Would be kinda fun if someone would drop a few bombshells at one of these things: - Q: "Why'd you want to come to the _________s" - A: "Cuz they dropped a fuckin' trcukload of money in my lap" Wasn't complaining about it. Just letting peeps without the benefit of radio or TV know they weren't missing a thing beyond seeing the dude in his new shirt for the first time.
  2. Johan = clich machine.

Looks like a gangster or something. Aren't all MLB Teams sites in Spanish as well as English? Yeah, guess you're right. Never noticed before and didn't know they had LosMets.com pointing to it. Kinda neat.
  4. Shea Stadium patch on the right arm looks good. Johan flanked by Omar and Jeff Wilpon on this right, Willie and David Wright on his left. There are less flashbulbs when Britney's flashing her nekkid hoo-haw. Lots of peeps with cameras crammed in that room.
  5. Johan to the stage. White, pinstriped #57. Blue lid. Nice.

  7. *bump* Would like to talk about some of these now.
  8. It's on NOW!!!
  9. Registration's open. If we're doing this thing again, maybe someone should sign up so we can get a good draft day/time.

  11. I'm listening to Mike and the Mad Dog for the first time in I don't know when. Francessa sez Mets have offered a total of $152M and Johan wants around $10M more. Also says Mets don't want to guarantee the last year.
  12. I'm not worried. In the least. No way Minaypon didn't know for the most part what it would take to sign the dude. They don't make the trade if they didn't already have their minds made up to throw truckloads of cash at him after they got him. Probably not even the money that's really holding stuff up, but the structure, how it's escalated, deferrals, opt-out stuff (?), no-trade stuff, player/club options, what the incentive $$ will be for Cy votes and the like. Lots of stuff to hammer out. They'll get it done.
  13. Fantastic interview, man. Love that show, too. I think her admitting she loves the black even though deep down she knows it really sucks made her all the more cool. And her jewelry answer was dynamite.
  14. The soundtrack's really, really good. The versions of the songs are fuller in production than they appear in the movie, but they're no less beautiful. Here's that Academy Award nominated tune performed on a sidewalk in Utah apparently.
  15. Getting lots of nice reviews from Sundance. The story of a Dominican ballplayer trying to make in American pro baseball. IMDB. Review. Might be hard to find, but might be worth the look.
  16. I completely dug this movie. I have 3 Frames albums and mostly like them, but I really, really love this guy singing with this chick. I thought it was a perfect, little ending and you can't beat "Broken Hearted Hoover Fixer Sucker Guy". Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
  17. I completely and totally gay for Band of Horses.
  18. Game over.
  19. I think cause his wife's called Jordan. The Jordan Rules. #23. That basketball player. The book of the same name. You know, Jordan.
  20. Edgy DC wrote: Wise gets his salad tossed. Outstanding, man.
  21. Get rid of any spaces in your table and you should be cool.
  22. Yeah, I completely dug this movie. Great usage of "vag" throughout.
  23. Rondell White actually wrote something in the memo line of the check. Wish I could make that out. Probably says "Not Drugs". Mike Lansing was smart enough to get a money order, but couldn't resist signing it with his beautifully legible autograph.
