  1. Cool, man. Let me know where I can mail you the other half of this thing. Oh, and "Waterword" kicks ass. "Howard the Duck", too.
  2. Oops. Sorry, dudes.
  3. Yeah, that gay thing's not in my queue. *cough cough* At least you can blame it on your lady. I got nuthin'. Edit: Oh, I thought you were gonna watch that, too. I'm the only dork here apparently.
  4. Oh, I gotcha. Mine's this: http://www.netflix.com/BeMyFriend/PaK9HRgkbgJBK2aQDT61 Edgy, there's a period at the end of your link that's muckin' things up. I always have to logout and log back in before I can see new buddies. Not sure if that's the deal for everyone else.
  5. It's not so much a community like here, but you can add contacts on the "Friends & Community" tab in Netflix after you login. Directly under the tab is a link to "Invite Friends". You plug-in their email address and after they accept, they appear under your "Friends and Favs". There you can see what they've watched, what they've queued, what they've rated, and using the "Notebook" feature, you can send recommendations and correspond through the site about movies. It's pretty cool. You even have Baseball-Reference style sim scores with your friends. I think there's privacy features where you can keep peeps from seeing the stuff you watch, but I've not messed with it.
  6. Yeah, I'm stoopid about movies, so it's been good makin' movie pals. A little embarrassing when I queue up stupid shit, but my friends won't judge me, right? Right?
  7. Young @ Heart is documentary about a group of seniors in Massachusetts who play covers of contemporary songs like you never heard 'em before. They rock your socks off and jerk tears from your eyes all at once. Cool flick.
  8. Solid. Gave it a 4. Love how "deadly" was such a commonly used adjective. Thinking of hiring all two of 'em to play my next house party.
  9. Irish called it. That's not our David. That first quote was from David Blaine. Our Davey said this. Little more believable. Lilttle less Spunky Lasorda. ]Im looking forward to going to a Giants football game, being a fan and cheering for my favorite team. Ive gotten to know a lot of the guys and its a great form of relaxation after playing as long as we do. I think they have a great chance to get back to the Super Bowl again. Im also looking forward to my annual Do The Wright Thing Gala [on Nov. 12 at the Hard Rock Cafe], which helps raise money for childrens charities. DAVID WRIGHT Third baseman,New York Mets
  10. That ain't the reason I thought they'd give. And 'enemy #1'? Laaaaaaame.
  11. Yeah, I agree with what Edgy said. I think it'd be a compelling and really important story if Berenyi wanted to tell it. More than just noteworthy. Any of you read Bean's book? Who's Adam? Why do I feel so lost today? Where are my keys?
  12. Am I the only one here that didn't know about Berenyi? When did he come out?
  13. I have some Mets jerseys (how come it's not jersies?) and except for this mid 80's Rawlings pull-over that I got back then, they're all cheapie replicas. I like having options on crap to buy because I'm 33 and find there to be few occasions a dude like me wears sports jerseys out anymore when I'm not at a game, and nowadays that's not an automatic anyway (I once owned a sweet, blue Clippers alternate road jersey I never wore out of the house once). Plus the cost of the official ones are downright offensive. $170 for a shirt is not something I will take part in. Cheap shirts = More money for $12 stadium beer.
  14. One of the best nights I've had recently involved not finishing this movie.
  15. Gwreck wrote: Google SMS! Send a text message that says "Mets score" to 46645 (GOOGL) and you'll get the current day's and previous day's score. No charge other than receiving one text message. I love that. Thanks.
  16. Love reading this stuff everyday, Grimm. Thanks.
  17. I've got a beard goin' already, but I'll forgo trimming or tidying up the neckard even to show my solidarity. Hobos rise up.
  18. Congratulations, Edgy. You guys look beautiful together. Welcome back, homes.
  19. I (heart) Pedro, too, but him in the pen sounds like kind of a bad idea. I know he doesn't have to hold back or whatever, but it's the first inning that's killing him this year. 2 things I didn't get yesterday watching Pedro: 1- why doesn't he stretch it out more in his bullpen session before each start? Throw an extra 15 pitches at 100% right at the end so he's "warmer". Maybe he has. I don't know. 2- he works too high in the zone way, way too often. Every target Schnide put for him was right at the knees and it seems like every pitch, Schneider's glove would drift up 6 or more inches to catch it. When you're throwing like 82 at the belt, what the hell does anyone expect'll happen? When he kept his pitches down, he got along way better. Darling pointed out in the first inning that Pedro's arm slot was lower and I totally agreed. That made me wonder if he was hurting some and trying to find an angle that hurt less.
  20. Watched this one yesterday and liked it. An American company is oustourcing one of its phone sales departments to India. One of the guys getting squeezed out goes there to get the new place up and running. At my current job, I deal directly with the IT departments for two very large call centers in Bangalore, so this one was maybe a little cooler for me. It's kind of like that Tom Selleck movie "Mr. Baseball", where the stubborn American goes to a foreign country, is unaccepting of their culture and customs at first, and then finally embraces it. Except it's good.
  21. There's a good story of friendship and loyalty under the cute and funny stuff, and there's a couple of awesome, artsy dream sequences, too. I bet the ladies love "Son of Rambow".
  22. Quiet, shy kid from an ultra-religious family partners up with the school troublemaker to try and win a TV show amateur movie contest. Hilarity ensues.
  23. Pins and needles, needles and pins.... These goddamn Mets can't get no wins...
