  1. I doubt Barrett had any say in where he ultimately ended up. And without more info, it's hard to say who instigated the fight. The larger point I was trying to make is if you get into a fight, and your OPS is in the low .700's, if the other guy is the ace of the staff, you might not want to renew your apartment lease.
  2. Just so we're clear, shake the way you shook on Monday, not Tuesday.
  3. Predictably, Gary and Howie are popular. Sterling, Waldman and Healy are not. http://www.newsday.com/sports/ny-spwatch195261951jun19,0,4932293.column?coll=ny-sports-mezz
  4. I think we should attempt to develop a natural rivalry with the Royals.
  5. Moral: Don't punch the soon-to-be-free-agent-ace dumbass.
  6. m.e.t.b.o.t. rocks.
  7. Don't let the record fool you, Santana has been good. In his 6 losses, 5 times he gave up 3 runs or less. In the other one, he gave up 4. I hope Sosa's on his game.
  8. He's only 31, am I missing something?
  9. Delgado shook it up and wore his socks high with good results.
  10. Lineup looks good to me. Let's beat these fuckers.
  11. One of the most frustrating things is the conflicting reports we get regarding injuries. In today's News, Rubin has this about Beltran's quad: Carlos Beltran, the NL's leading vote-getter, has no intention of skipping the July 10 All-Star Game in San Francisco, even though he suggested he could use a week off to rest a nagging left quadriceps injury that he indicated was a tear. "Three days? I don't think three days will help," Beltran said. "I don't think three days will take the pain away completely. If I make the All-Star Game, of course I want to be there." Torn quad? Shut it down. Let it heal and be 100% for the second half.
  12. This slump is obviously not going to end without some action on our parts. Do something different today. Order something different for lunch. Walk home using a different route. No tie for me today.
  13. What happened to LoDuca?
  14. I mighta DH'ed with Easley tonight the way he handles fastballs.

Prolly why I haven't posted anything in a few days. Anyway - for some strange reason I feel pretty good about them going into this series. There is no rational for this. The games are in the Boogie-Down, The Yankees are white-fucking-hot and the Mets are cold as Leona Helmsley in an igloo. But you know what? I think the Mets are the better team, they've simply had a bad two weeks and this could be just the tonic to turn them around. A high-profile series where everyone is basically expecting them to get their clocks cleaned. The Mets have hit Clemens in the past, and should really be able to hit Clippard this time around. On the other side - Ollie just had his once in 5 starts bad outing so that's out of the way, Glavine is pissed and has something to prove and you know El Duque probably can't wait to face them. Bring it on Skanks! This is what I needed to hear. We're gonna fucking win.
  16. The Mets are 2-10 in June. In half of those twelve games, they have scored two runs or less. They have scored three runs or less in 8 games. The Mets have led in each of their last 8 losses.
  17. Let's fucking win. I fucking hate Brad Penny.
  18. My leg hurts. I'm going to Port St. Lucie.
  19. Letting El Duque bat was a horrible decision. The guy was near 100 pitches and was getting hit hard. Not removing him when he was getting hit in the next frame was even worse. I'm not sure what the fuck the point is of getting the lefty up in the pen is if he's not brought in to face the LH pinch hitter. I feel like Willie was being stubborn there, knowing he would get ripped for letting El Duque bat, then pulling him in the middle of the next inning. I think he was hoping he could save face by at least getting a full frame out of him. Bad bad bad move. I'm not saying it would have won the game, but I am really getting sick of watching Willie Randolph go against the book and having it hurt the team. There's a reason the book says what it says.

The Buck Showalter Principle says that the Rangers are supposed to win the World Series this year.
  21. Just watched it this past weekend. A couple of cool spots here and there, but the storyline kinda sucked. I don't understand the point of bringing back Jean if she is just going to do that weird exorcist type thing. I liked X-Men 2. Big letdown.
  22. It's funny. My reactions to the two photos: Fraternizing with players on other teams is cool! Fraternizing with the opposition is so not cool!
  23. First we need Willie to put Captain RedAss into the lineup slot that would make people pay.
