Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman confirmed that the MFYs acquired 3B Ryan McMahon from the Rockies in exchange for lefty pitching prospect Griffin Herring, ranked eighth in their system by MLB.com, and righty minor league pitcher Josh Grosz, ranked 21st. McMahon has struck out 127 times, which leads the NL. He'll fit right in. Later

Today's roster moves from SNY: -Catcher Francisco Alvarez has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse -RHP Dedniel Núñez has been transferred to the 60-Day Injured List -LHP Richard Lovelady has been outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse -Catcher Hayden Senger was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse -RHP Rico Garcia has been claimed off waivers from the Yankees (who says you can't come home again?) Additionally, RHP Paul Blackburn is expected to continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. Later

Never thought of that. The engineer in me suspects it may have something to do with airflow between the tiers causing dangerous and unpredictable wind currents that make steering (even more) dangerous. He was also sent down to work on his defense, and he's had 4 passed balls and at least one error during that time. And in some of those games, he was a DH. So we'll have to see how much he has improved behind the dish. But if his bat is anything close to his recent numbers, he will be a welcomed addition. Later
