    Rosario swinging at the first pitch was irritating, but typical. I just found out that Frontier Communications will NOT be renewing their deal with SNY, so I'll be a fan on radio only (except for those dreadful ESPN and FOX games). Later

    He was a teammate on the 1961 Pirate team with Wayne Goss, and I always thought Larry Foss and Wayne Goss on the same team was kinda' funny. RIP. Later

    After five games for the 4-1 Kingsport Mets (he has played in 4), my kid has a slash line of .526/.550/.895/1.445 which includes 1 double, 2 homers and 9 RBI. Nice start, kid. Later

    I barely remember the name Norm Zauchin, an AL first baseman of the 50's. Never lived up to his rookie year. But I do remember hearing about Zeke Bonura. Even though he played before my time, I remember that Zeke had the reputation of (mis)fielding his first base position. Later, he was mentioned when stories were written about Marv Throneberry and Dick Stuart in the field. Both Norm and Zeke were righty hitting first basemen. Later

    SNY is not available on my Frontier Communications service, until they "re-negotiate the contract" (sez my not so friendly customer service person). He added, "It might be resolved by the end of the month." I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news. Later
