  1. From what I saw at Binghamton (and looking at the numbers) nobody at Binghamton looks ready, either. Later
  2. Saw Binghamton lose to Hartford 5-2 https://www.milb.com/gameday/rumble-ponhttps://www.milb.com/gameday/rumble-pon ... ame=571983 Saw Binghamton lose to Hartford 5-2 Dunkin Donuts Stadium is new, a few years old. Parking is close and access from the major highway (Rt 84) is easy. The staff is friendly and helpful. It holds 6,500 people, and is filled most nights. Some observations: Catcher Patrick Mazieka looks good. He had two of their 4 hits. He pulled his HR to right and went with the pitch to single to left. Shortstop Andres Gimenez made three plays that would make the year-end highlight reel for any major league club. A lefty hitter, he got a hit off a 94 MPH fastball from a lefty reliever who had just struck out the previous two batters. Pitcher Tony Dibrell is just up from A ball, and entered the game with an 8+ ERA. He tired in the fifth after looking good for 4. Strangely, he was throwing 89 at the beginning of the game, but after he gave up three runs, he pumped it up to 94. Great ballpark, great food (today's specialty was bacon covered munchkins, which would have made my cardiologist cringe and lobster bisque). Great giveaways (a really a top quality hat). Great fun. Only one negative thing, the giveaway program has names and pictures of the players, but no numbers. And their unis don't have the names on the back. Very frustrating. Later

That said, if the Mets should sign him when he becomes a free agent, I would love him just as much as I don't now. Later
  4. Saw Binghamton lose to Hartford 5-2 yesterday. My write-up is in the One The Road Again forum. Later

  6. =bmfc1 post_id=18337 time=1565440210 user_id=73] It's also Pride Night which should go well with the Chik Fil A foul (fowl) poles.
  7. This was like putting on an old pair of pants and finding money in the pocket. Later
  8. =MFS62 post_id=18171 time=1565310120 user_id=60] I will not miss a moment of sleep if Rendon misses the series. Later
  9. Well see once he clears waivers today. Later

  11. Naming Phil Regan pitching coach. Since he;s been here, both the starters and the bullpen have gotten better. Later
  12. I think I'm gonna' fwow up. Later
  13. =G-Fafif post_id=18134 time=1565286667 user_id=55] Everybody in the organization who might plausibly materialize for Players Weekend has been assigned a nickname, but not Jed Lowrie. Or maybe it's listed but nobody can see it.
  14. Think those unis are different? Well, boys and girls, you ain't seen nuthin' yet. Sunday, I'll be going to see Binghamton play at Hartford. The team name is the River Goats. But that was the winning name. Others were rejected, and the home team will be wearing unis of the name that lost the contest. Bob Uecker approves. Actually, according to Alonso, it is because Mercury is no longer in retrograde. https://nypost.com/2019/08/06/pete-alonsos-latest-weird-answer-mercury-retrograde-joke/https://nypost.com/2019/08/06/pete-alonsos-latest-weird-answer-mercury-retrograde-joke/ Later
  18. I haven't been very fond of St John's University hitters since Larry Bearnarth hit a home run off me ( it may still be in orbit around Mars) in a college game. (Yes, he was a pitcher for the Mets, and later a pitching coach in the majors. But the Red Sox wanted to sign him as an outfielder. I saw why.) Later

  22. I would have double switched Todd to third when they brought Alonso into the game. I'd think he's a better fielder there than Hechavrria. Later
  23. Hart? I though the was assigned to Syracuse. When was he brought up? Later
  24. If they're going to sign someone not already on the 40 man roster, I'd prefer it be Tejada. who is the better fielder. Also, I'd let Noah go the "traditional" as hard as he can for as long as he can, and then see how far that is before just pulling him at some arbitrary point. (Unless he's tired from running the bases, that is.) But 80 pitches through 6 seems too early. Later
