  1. lol. I am pessimisstic on Betances and Diaz so feel I gotta go all-in on a return to form by Fammy this year. 5-1, 2.87, 30 saves, good solid work when we need it and after Diaz is sidelines with a bullshit injury for the org to save face, if not save games.

  3. Thanks for the reminder on that... now that you mention it sounds familiar. Fammy certainly went through some stuff
  4. Edge is quoting the Times obit on Bill Curtis. Normally I'm a big fan of trading Matz but that was before we let Wheeler walk and when his imagined destination wasn't the Bronx. It would be cool if we could hold them over a barrel and all but don't see it--yet. Perhaps we could interest them in Walker Lockett

  6. That's funny, I zonked out on the couch during the final Hunters ep last night, woke up and asked Wifey Bucket "what happened" and she said "a lot." Getting through that show was a real chore at times -- did they have to exaggerate Nazi crimes? -- and the whole superhero thing didn't really make sense to me. In the end a show that was interesting but way out of scale to the hype, and Pacino was largely unitelligible. Wanted to put on captions.
  7. Who knows what to expect with this guy? Here in the 2020 Vison thread, YOU do.
  8. Yeah, it was pretty good, suspenseful and parts were funny, and taught us all The True Meaning Of White Privilege. We're watching Peele's HUNTERS show now, some of the same odd mix of over the top violence, message and humor but don't love it altogether
  9. I think it's great that JdG is such a low-key FotF. He got better once he cut his hair too. And not 4 nothing but he threw nothing but high 90s strikes in his spring debut yesterday, easy as pie. Gotta say, I prefer the low-drama guys in our rotation, regardless of where they rank in face-ability. Gimme reliable-but-boring over exciting-but-inconsistent anyday. Worried about Stroman, wary of Syndergaard. Bring on the Trachsels of the world!
  10. thanks to the magic guy who right-formed this
  11. This guy could get some love in the Dark Horse thread, 6-5 lefty starter, very good WHIP and K figures in the minors but slowed by a couple injuries and the requisite welcome to the bigs beatings, now exploring a change of scenery. I see this fella leading Syracuse in whiffs and wins before a mideason callup precipated by a spate of rain make-ups and doing OK enough to eventually consider setting Matz free.
  12. More like Nogo-suck, am I right, fellas?
  13. Hard at the moment to see where this guy fits in, gotta hold off Mauricio behind him and break Rosario ahead. Does he hit enough to be a Ruben Tejada Jr.?
  14. Young interracial couple plan a "meet the parents" weekend, deadly hijinx ensue.
  15. Benjamin Grimm wrote: By the end of the year he'll be more despised than Mel Rojas. That's closer to where I am. In fact I never really hated Mel Rojas all that much, I was just disappointed in his performance. This is different inasmuch as it proves how little the Mets learn from the Rojases of the world. It'll be just ugly, but he'll lose his "closer" role sooner than Jarred Kelenic arrives in the big leagues, and will get a mercy change-of-scenery trade to, say, the Tigers, Royals or White Sox. That's my upside scenario.
  16. I don't even want to start this thread but it's my grim duty. And it's yours.
  17. I heard this sucked. I read the book too
  18. Dude is entering his 6th season and age 27 year: This is where we want to have Michael Conforto. If I had to guess, and I DO have to guess, this being the 2020 Vision thread, I'd predict a Career Year: 35-110 300/400/500 Yes
  19. If we ran the forum like Trump runs the country, we'd out the lone Mets supporter and ban him.
  20. Guys get your 2020 Visions in. You will be graded on these. I'm thinking that the shoulder injury represents a minor setback for JD but this frickin guy knows how to hit and he hangs in there at third. Hopefully. 21-60 275/344/477
  21. 2 CYs in a row for the slender righthander. Can he make it 3? Why or why not? What's your 2020 vision for JdG?
  22. Giancarlo Stanton down with a bad sounding leg strain
  23. Chief Brody does a lot of stupid things, imo, mostly stupid, but he'll always have this move. What a hitter. What next?
  24. Yeah way too tatted up for a guy who sucks as much as he does.
