  1. also, Robel Garcia gets 00; Jose Martinez 53, even if these are just placeholders. http://www.mbtn.net/?p=3351http://www.mbtn.net/?p=3351
  2. 2. HAND'S OFF, SHE'S MINE
  3. Had to go 6 years tho. Wow.
  4. Mets close to deal with Mr. Hand, twitter says
  5. Well could a team then bat their starter and enter a DH when they relive him?
  6. Sherman has an even more nuanced take. Good stuff here including his own WATP that the Mets sans a DH/Springer could flip Familia and Betances for Lorenzo Cain. https://nypost.com/2021/01/13/mlbs-dh-fight-holding-up-mets-offseason-sherman/https://nypost.com/2021/01/13/mlbs-dh-fight-holding-up-mets-offseason-sherman/
  7. A Boy Named Seo wrote: I joined late, too, but his response about calling out teammates who broke Covid protocol was really thoughtful and something I'd wanna hear out of my neighbors, let alone a pro athlete. Yeah I thought the same thing
  8. Seaver should be the winner for lots of reasons. Every once in a while you have to break the rules. Newsday did so cleverly and appropriately, presenting an urgent story with current implications (Covid 19) in a format that recalled the past glory. It's great. The Alonso cover also "looks back" -- at 2019. Less relevant in 2020 as as we all know, it wasn't an "Amazin and fun year" and practically every pitcher in the National League "Beat Pete" VOTE TOM
  9. He lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks with NutriSlim, and so can you!
  10. Hit me slowly, hit me quick
  11. My crazy ass, no-Springer deal gets Kris Bryant (and a OK prospect) from the Cubs for, um, JD Davis (and a shit prospect). Save the $$ or not, Cubs. And we want that OK prospect
  12. I'm pretty sure he mispronounces Kison. ruined the whole thing for me
  13. I don;t like Turner. Very suspicious of him. It's a good idea anyway
  14. Ruben Tejada with a peppier engine. Not sure he'll ever be better than this year but this year he was good. Criminal to see him wearing 60. He was more like a 1 than Rosario, but really a 2.
  15. We were in Denver for his MLB debut, which was exciting to see even though I think he fouled out, whiffed, made an error, and the Mets got walked-off on ineffective bullpenning. Probably wouldn't have hurt his career giving him a few more months to percolate in the minors but I was probably with everyone else anxious to see him. He had kind of a weird style defensively, odd arm angle when he threw, and never really seemed comfortable with his relative gangliness despite knowing he was a good athlete, not a "classic" aesthetic at all. That bothered me a little about him, as did the terrible beard he never shaved even after I asked him to like 100 times here. Did not properly embody the No. 1 type. Would have made a better 11, or maybe 15. All that said I wouldn't put a 25 homer/decent D year past him, he showed us a few times he could do it
  16. When Valentine heard what the Mets were giving up in the Alomar trade he asked "What's wrong with him?" (meaning Alomar)
  17. As some said, hard deal not to like. I especially am boner-y learning Lindor is a switch-hitter. And that he's a gold-glove SS who once hit 38 home runs in a season. Hopefully Carrasco can return to form because he was quite good once. Rosie had his chances and showed flashes over the years but really didn;t run with his opportunity the way I'd have liked him to. Gimenez obviously has ability but how much more than what he showed? Maybe the other 2 become stars but who knows.
  18. Don "Full Pack" Stanhouse maybe https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-daffy-dozen-don-stanhouse-0724-20150723-story.htmlhttps://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-daffy-dozen-don-stanhouse-0724-20150723-story.html
  19. This way the relievers and starters get one Jeremy and one Ricky each
  20. The electorate mirrors my own ambiguity over which of these covers is better than the other. All that said all votes matter!
  21. The Rays needed to make room on their 40 for the trade haul, so traded LH reliever Jose Alvarado to the Philles in 3-way action with the Dodgers, who get Garrett Cleavinger from the Phils and sent over a minor league infielder and PTBNL to Tampa. Alvarado has been pretty OK.
  22. I love that we were able to also throw in Nickeas.
  23. Eh, I didn't see the Buckner play live either and nobody questions my bonafides. ( I told this story before but was at a camping trip in the woods and informed what was happening by 1 guy listening in his car (Agglera fuckin blew it!) and then another guy 30 minutes later (leaping, Buckner! Mookie!). It's not like Cohen pretends to be a real fan like Jeff Wilpon... Or Matz
