1. Yeah that wasn't nice of me, but I can overvalue cheap laughs at times. Didn't mean to offend anyone here. The truth is I'd never seen Parker till today and knowing he was a hotshot young exec i just don't expect that in the USA today. The other thing is the Mets in the Wilpon Era were always about hiring the good face. Look at Brodie.
2. Q: Tell us, Jared, was this the longest you've ever gone without a Big Mac?
3. Could probably lose 25 pounds
4. The Tuesday Night Mets Club this morning exchanged credit for unattended 2020 games and wound up with 11 Tuesdays (out of 13 total) Find us April 27 (red sox); May 11 (Orioles); May 25 (Rockies); June 15 (Cubs); June 22 (Braves); July 6 (Brewers); Aug. 10 (Nationals); Aug 24 (Giants); Aug 31 (Marlins); Sept 14 (Cardinals); Sept 28 (Marlins). Entire exchange from last season basically comes out in the wash. 2 more games this year but prolly worse overall seats, plus service changes, made it a $41 purchase
5. Will you please stop spelling McCann incorrectly. He's not a shoe salesman
6. Cool. Perhaps he buys everyone biker jackets

8. Lost Deneil Nunez to SFG Selected a pitcher from Cleveland then sold him to Pittsburg In the minor league phase they picked up -OF Drew Ferguson (HOU). Low power, but good BA/OBP guy who plays 3 positions -RHP Justin Dillon (TOR). Starter, good whip guy -SS Drew Jackson (LAD). Stats don't look very good -RHP Jesus Reyes (CIN) sinkerball reliver -LHP Jose "the Gorilla" Zorrilla (CIN) LHP reliever, high ERA, lots of whiffs Lost: -SS Sebastian Espino -C Wilfred Astudillo -RHP Ezequiel Zabaleta -2B Mitchell Tolman
9. I like the idea of better-caliber play at Brooklyn. I would hope they also "grow up" in terms of the over-the-top "family friendly" brand of shitshow irritating promos they do there -- too loud and cheesy even for bush-league team in Coney Island. Games there ought to be a chill, fun experience on a hot summer night (ocean breezes, the ocean, the boardwalk, the rides, the future Mets). Fun but needn't be forced fun
10. Buster busts in in a message that reads to me like he thinks Tracky is misinterpreting things or being led astray https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/1336732492422909958https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/1336732492422909958
11. Tracky says things are "serious" https://twitter.com/martinonyc/status/1336724763641835526https://twitter.com/martinonyc/status/1336724763641835526
12. To Kevin, "Let's Go Mets" Saul Goodfellow 6/19/93
13. Soft-throwing sidearm (!) guy, was working with Hefner when he was kicking ass (2017). Assuming he can find his way again, a good sort of guy to have in the bullpen, considering how many power-arm dudes we're now sporting. We really ARE building quite the Trevor market share. Obviously modeled after the success of YES when they acquired two Trevors for the bullpen (Horn and later Rabin) and became a surprise contender. It Can Happen
14. Fans hopeful this frees up money for them. Reds need a SS, we have several
15. The whole Matsui-Reyes controversy was so Wilponian. Get a Japanese guy whom the foreign press will cover as a revenue generator (sell ads a la Hidecki across town). Engage ex-pat son of the owner to facilitate the deal, developing bad blood in the family while doing so. Play him at SS moving aside a younger teammate with eye-popping ability, assuring that Matsui in addition to making the adjustment to a new league/language etc also absorbs the "blame" (Art Howe gets dirtied as well) while Reyes seemingly develops a mysterious injury that keeps him out for a year.
16. 2 is definitely Bud. 1 is... Reed Cordero, obviously
17. I almost feel better about this dude than Realmuto, only because I associate catchers who can hit with injuries and subpar defense. Plus there's not a whole lot of unrealized upside to JTR. Otoh, this dude may or may not hit and 4 years is like 2 more than I'd be comfy with
18. Some guy on the internet says we're in serious talks on a four year deal? Joel Sherman says it's a possibility
19. Documentary highlights the musical hijinks of an iconic Canadian troubadour. Streaming on ammyzon. Really well done. Funny, admiring but not a complete suckjob, makes a good case for his dedication and craftsmanship and.. musicality.
20. Paul Sewald Era is over. Damn. I thought Shreeve was aight last year, at least what little of it I can remember
21. Matz pisses me off. If he weren't an Omar-era draftee and native Long Islander he'd have been the one to go and not Wheeler. I'd have traded him five times already. Destined I think to be a Brave and pitch really well against the Mets but also, lose plenty of 4-run leads against shit teams and sing country gospel
22. Gzelly was a disaster last year. Who knows what's next for him
23. Gave up more homers than you might like for a relief guy but over the last 3 years pretty good
