I think he has an arm injury he manages instead of solving surgically like his American stud counterparts do, would be riskier and also, less risky than some. But I dunno about him.
Yeah the mistake the Mets made wasn't in getting either Wacha nor Porky, but letting Wheeler go in the first place. Had they kept Wheeler they probably sign just one of them, tho.
Not looking at the numbers but is Rolen legit enough to require a hard look? I wouldn't be surprised if not, but from the blue and orange standpoint he's a must before they look at and sympathy-vote Wright down wright will have every tabloid NY vote and none anywhere else.
Yeah he wants the big buxx. But you know I read somewhere he can throw like 18 different pitches. Was the third overall pick in his draft (2 behind Gerritt Cole) and ahead of notables like George Springer (11) and Brandon Zimmo (13)

Stroman is no where near a controversial, but pretty outspoken and sensitive himself. A lot of personality for someone who is a middle of the rotation guy. I can see a lot of fans turning on him if he doesn't have an ace-type year. (Which is not anything we should expect really). Yeah to the extent he's a local guy and had success in the past I sorta like his outspokenness and CAHNfidence, but wish he'd earn some of that for us. I nearly let myself get tricked into buying he was going to have a good 2020 just based on the volume of his twittermouth. But this time it's really up to him to earn a future living
Hafta look at the DH rule first, and if not, I'd be very tempted to see what Alonzo could bring back. I also feel like Zimmo has a connection to Alderson that might make him "safer" than folks think. Cano can hit the bricks for all I care. He's a fine player but not getting any more useful. There are a lot of possibilities for the Mets right now
=batmagadanleadoff post_id=50563 time=1605219196 user_id=68] If losing Davis means gaining Springer and possibly Realmuto, I can live with that all life long. The guy I hope we don't lose is Dom Smith. I'm really liking that guy and while I'm not about to make any kind of prediction, it wouldn't surprise me if Dom ends up having a better career than Alonso. I'm not predicting or even laying any odds on that. I'm just saying that it wouldn't be so far-fetched.
We saw this. Good performances. The fact it was set in a different country made it a little more mysterious but you sorta knew who'd win anyway. Not the most memorable film you'll ever see.
I tried like hell to reach him to do his SABR bio. Wound up connecting with a local sportswriter who sorta hinted he was a kind of moody loner who couldn't really be relied on for stuff like that. But anyway, an interesting figure in that he was drafted 9 rounds ahead of Nolan Ryan by the same scouting team. https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/les-rohr/https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/les-rohr/
Sherman knocks it out of the park here, acknowledging the low bar they exceeded, but also holding them accountable to their words. https://nypost.com/2020/11/10/steve-cohen-wows-mets-rival-in-stunning-press-conference-sherman/https://nypost.com/2020/11/10/steve-cohen-wows-mets-rival-in-stunning-press-conference-sherman/
It's like one long slow moving hijink. You might like it. You might find it a little boring or without the ending you might prefer. I got interested in the soundtrack and we streamed some of the artist who works in a genre I've never really heard of called primitive country. https://youtu.be/Wq_rV1UuTEghttps://youtu.be/Wq_rV1UuTEg
I'm watching the replay of this conference and I've splooged about a dozen times. I don't necessarily believe everything I hear but the idea of this message being delivered -- by the Mets -- is almost unimaginable.
Just saying, you can't necessarily get everyone and can only trade a guy once. A right handed hitting center fielder like that Springer guy seems like the area of greatest need, followed closely by starting pitching. You might do better surrendering some of that middle infield talent for a pitcher in a trade.
I don;t really "know" Lindor, so I'm kinda wary. Also between Gimenez, Rosie and the upcoming Mauricio it seems like middle infielders with ability is not necessarily the shortcoming we need to address for 2021. We could use a MLB catcher and a world-class centerfielder and probably 2 good starting pitchers

Beltran was Omar. BVW was the guy who traded Beltran. Omar Mets them went and let the guy they got for Beltran walk and reacquired Beltran to manage. The whole thing was insane.
