  1. What a great AB for Lindor!
  2. Big Game Gaydar is activated.
  3. I'm not gonna watch again, but was every blown call with Chicago pitching? Some of them sorta looked alike--like, so I'm thinking OK, adjust to a wide zone for right-handers--then he starts missing low and high too. Nightmare
  4. "Evans eyes the incoming ball like the Nirvana baby reaches for the dangling dollar--they're young, they're trying--but trickery and failure and heroin and suicide may await them both and this is in our own faces and yet clear that Evans' fate as a Fringe Met awaits and that Baby Nirvana is doomed to come of age as an American voter in time for Donald Fucking Trump to be president and all we can do is say 'Oh well. Whatever. Nevermind.'" --Joe Schlabotnik, Famous Art Critic
  5. Same o. Mcneil, and point taken, re picking and choosing convenient examples. My point with Castillo from the start was reliability-- he's been up there in Quality Starts for a few seasons, that's a good thing to have in an up and down season
  6. Luis Castillo Watch: 5 IP, 4 ER, 6 K, 3 BB, 1 bases loaded HBP in a no-decision loss vs LAD. This was his worst outing in a while, but, you know, better than Carasco yesterday
  7. I love this Typewriter Chewing Gum Rock n Roll set and would literally buy the entire set for real money and frame it and hang it my office, for real. It's the best thing since sliced (Wonder) bread, and a pity we had to wait 12 years to see it. Signed, Roger Kaputnik P.S.: They'd be better if they all included a snippet of a lyric, an album title or quote associated with the rnr property that tied it to the Met or action in baseball, even with a dotted line, like the Turner one, but not be so obvious so as also to reveal the band or album. Would inspire thought and discovery
  8. Maybe the answer lies not with Candy-O, but with Dessens. It's *obvious* you're on the right track with this thing-- it's that you must find the Elmer that, yes, glues this genius inspiration all together, and brings to lfe this magnificent artistic vision, making it into into the gallery-worthy, jaw-droppingly stunning combination of fringe Mets, iconic rock albums, baseball cards, and big pointy tits that we all know it can be! Seek your answer in Elmer, FOR THE LOVE OF ART.
  9. Well, its not like they are going to suddenly bench Escobar unless or until they determine whether whatever is ailing him makes him unable to be Escobar. They could be deciding that now, for all we know, just wary of the idea a first-time MLBer ought to be looked at as though he'd necessarily be an instant upgrade on a dude with the track record and expectations and contract and overall value (good to very good D) that Escobar theoretically provides. Plus, I'd argue the Mets current issues go beyond that, as noted with the WERRYSOME conditions around Lindor, McNeil and Zimmo. They're on the KNIFES EDGE I TELL YOU 🔪 🗡 🍴 🍽 🔪
  10. --swept for the first time all year. --can't complain about the results year-to-date, but they have not looked like the "2022 Mets" ever since... Lindor's pinky/McNeil's *first* injury/Nimmo's wrist/Escobar's dizziness --WERRY
  11. Please put on your rally caps and understand if Escobar hits this inning, we most likely have already tied it up. ROOT FOR ESCOBAR
  12. Oddly, I seem to have screwed up my order back over the offseason-- and bought Tuesday Night Mets tickets for the MFY series on that Wednesday instead of on Tuesday. I feel like to stay "on brand" I should look into a swap with someone--maybe I'll call my "personal contact" at the Mets, young Max-- but if I can't pull that off we'll be at Citi in Section 505 that night.
  13. oh Esco. Big moment for Dom here
  14. oh that's right, so 3
  15. Bannering is such a unique organic and distict element of the Met Fan Brand experience, a good marketer should click into that and find a way to exploit it as a differentiator Ive only experimented with banners twice. The famous FREE TIMO PEREZ game with KC, and the other time I participated in Banner Day with a banner about bannering that I thought was so cleverly meta it should have won. I found the experience fun but also making myself an object of attention at a baseball game to be a little uncomfortable also. http://www.mbtn.net/images/freetimo.jpg>
  16. Gizmo keeps on making the plays. You probably tuned put but that was one sweet pick
  17. I always hated Farnsworth, one of those guys with tight skin and no hair on their bodies that looked like they smelled bad. That MLB chatroom gag had him pinned. Another forgotten gem of baseball web 1.0.
  18. The Glue Gun. I wanna say this chubby palooka was in his moment, the best reliever on the entire club. Wore no 64. Also how come we've never seen the Rock m Roll set before
  19. As usual I remembered the sequence of events wrong... But I was right about the collision... http://www.beta.mbtn.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/ruggiano.jpg> His big hit was after he returned from this injury--a monster grand slam off Bumgarner back when he was the best pitcher in the world.
  20. Wore No. 1, looked great for one or two games--just enough to make you believe maybe, he was really something--then had one of the most violent and painful-looking collisions with an outfield wall I can remember seeing, and if I'm not mistaken that was the end of him as a Met, and probably, a big-leaguer
  21. I can't say enough about how cool that site was. There were no peers on the the internet run by fans that came close to how well done it was. Mets Online and the forum were good too, but it was always under the shadow of that Nutty52 and a couple of mouth-breathing fucktards that constantly needed filtering. Not that I was always a saint there too. "Kev and Scott's Astros Connection" -- it had the right mix of "witty elitist asshole baseball fan" tone that I wanted our Mets convo to be, plus lots of respect for the brand of the Astro fan--so it was obvious it was thought out and mindful of history. Plus one of them was a really good web designer. The whole thing was ahead of its time and I regretted they didn't have the energy to keep it alive. Then the Astros moved to the AL and I stopped caring. I can't remember all the details but Kev or Scott--forget which one mentioned online he'd be in NYC at the same time the Mets were in the playoffs, so I asked him to come to the bar I used to watch all the games in, and to my surprise he did, had a few beers with me and Wifey Bucket (at the time, Girly Bucket). It might have been the fateful Game 1 of the 2000 WS. He left in like the 5th inning though.
  22. I missed the whole thing working. Just looking at the GameDay pbp. Peterson created and escaped a whole lot of trouble and the Marlins are less WERRYSOME than I might have thought-' a bad fundy team like the Phillies.
