  1. Interesting article. In some other otd thread, I recall being disappointed with otd as a kid, thinking. "Where are the Mets?"
  2. I gotta say, again, that I was WERRIED that the Mets had lost a little something when we first encountered the Marlins, only to be pleasingly astonished at how shitty they were at baseball, and that was a gift that kept us from going into this series as a second place team. We can't count on the other teams being shittier than us all time though. Sometimes you have play well too, and I think that's gotta be the message coming off a way-too-hairy Reds series.

  4. "Nimmo" with a three-run "homer."
  5. Good night for "guys" that "suck."
  6. Agreed with Gary and Zeile on defending the bunt... not that it mattered
  7. Sometimes you don't believe in guys and yet you still gotta believe in them (he types as the tying run gets on)

  9. Yeah the Carter-Hernandez brother contrast thing is really facsinating
  10. PHAM is singlehandedly KILLING us in this series, I tellya. We'd do well to trade for him 5 minutes after tonight's game!!! Fuck, it, between innings.
  11. It's about time we had someone who knows what they are talking about join us.
  12. =G-Fafif post_id=98474 time=1657107263 user_id=55] Point to the sky and see Hansel Robles, designated for assignment by the Red Sox.
  13. This is part of my own continuing bullshit, but hear me out. I have 2 work colleagues (including my boss) who are Cincy-born Reds fans. One of them (not my boss) is very into & intelligent about the Reds/baseball/fantasy the whole thing and when I remarked to him this am that the Mets were having the kind of year where until a few weeks ago, the great catch Pham made in the 8th inning last night tips off his glove and the next 6 guys get hits, but that kinda luck has just seemed to turn lately, and his reply was "Well, Pham could well be on your team in August," and then I thought hmmm. Maybe its not just Moustakis (we take) & Castillo (we want) on this club, but Pham too. He's 34 but can still hit pretty good 11-34-260 but a 342 OBP and 7 steals and as we saw last night can go get it too. As BR/TR DH/reserves go, he'd be at once, an upgrade on Davis but not quite dramatic an update as Trey Mancini (Mancini younger, 121 OPS+ vs. 101 OPS+ but counting numbers are pretty similar. The bonus with Pham, as I see it, is that he at worst fulfills the Inciarte role and maybe even platoons with LH hitter as needed. The bonus is he's extra sauce in a deal that doesn't cost us much since we're taking back all of Moustakas $$ and getting a Carrasco/Megill/Peterson etc. dramatic upgrade in Castillo. It also keeps us from spreading around our resources too much so powder dry for Wilson Contreras+relievers or however you wanna upgrade catching and bullpen. Luis Castillo. Don't Leave Cincinnati Without Him! edit: coworker latest reply "more" meaning a deal around Davis/Smith: [bLOCKQUOTE]Taking Moustakas' salary might be all it takes, but otherwise I would hope they'd get more for Castillo. This is the Reds, though, so probably not.[/bLOCKQUOTE]
  14. Well it's time for that Triple Play
  15. Lugo looks like he's aiming
  16. Things are not looking all that good. This is the Tommy Pham Game
  17. Tommy can you hear me? I'm cheering on my sofa
  18. Who ordered Indian food? Tommy Hunter
  19. Good execution on that bunt
  20. Geez I practically forgot Trevor May even existed till Gary just mentioned him. He's also openly speculating on Ottavino's health. Tommy Hunter looks fatter than last time he was around
  21. I had high hopes for Matt Reynolds at one time. Was a good hitter who could play shortstop at a big kollege (Arkansas) and Mets/Sandy made him a pretty high pick
  22. Geez. Wifey Bucket and Lunchpail are at tonight's Ray-RedSox game in Fenway. I had to work this week so missed that tip. 3-3 in the 2nd!
