  1. 1991 (?) at Veterans Stadium Im with my friend Mike along the third base line before the game. Mike: Andy! Andy Benes! Andy: Looks at us Mike: You're on my fantasy team! You're my ace! Andy: You're in trouble.
  2. Hey this Keys fella went to my high school. Go Tornados!
  3. Missed last night's game but saw a clip of Lindor perhaps showing up Green during the Manaea pitching change. Immediately I wondered whether the bench on Sunday was due to injury recovery or something else. Its not all sunshine on a cloudy day for Lindor. He punched out McNeil and had a rep as a diva when he came over from Cleveland. When the Mets were his team there was nothing better but I wonder how much dysfunction he himself is a part of.
  4. You know who was good at cleaning up? Pete Alonso.
  5. Bear Stearns is pretty good. Daiky News needs to revisit their font sotuation if they want any chance this year.
  6. I don't care what number he wears. It's being a deified Met Legend and also being a first-time manager is trouble waiting to happen
  7. Hardly ever got ejected. Wearing no. 64 didn't do him any favors. Green wearing no. 70! Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a second chance somewhere.m, like the Nats or White Sox maybe. Despite what you might read above he was a fine Xs and Os manager. He just didn't know how to right the ship when it wobbled.
  8. I feel like the gangsta move woulda been Benge and Ewing 1-2
  9. Think about what a clusterfuck it would be to fire a guy whose number is retired. Every manager gets fired! That should be a prerequisite to getting your number retired--no more fucking with the organization. Even Seaver had trouble as a channel 11 guy. What I'm saying is, Beltran can manage the Mets pr get his number retired. Not both till he's truly retired.
  10. I agree its long since time to have tried someone else but keep in mind Young and Wagaman are already here and Morabito looked worse than MJ on his worst day. I will also say that I liked Melendez as a guy. Like, he was genuine and professional like Semien, whatever the results.
  11. I have vague memories of watching Andy Green as a Met, wearing No. 10. Managed the Padres for 3+ seasons. That's all I got
  12. Felt like Mendy did a lot of things right but he lacked that motivation gene. Over and over demonstrated he couldn't pull the club out of a slide. This year I felt like the team just wasn't prepared to compete on day 1 and that's on him to an extent. To be totally fair to Mendy I'd have fired him after the Phillies series not the Cubs.
  13. I'd trade the shit out of Soto if I could.
  14. Son of a horse trainer. Succeeded Pat Mahomes as the Best Mets pitcher to wear 23. Showed up not long after Tim Peterson, who was a schlubby guy unlike the long and lean David. I conflated em anyway
  15. As much as he's sucked I kinda liked Semien, comes off as a pro and a not a clown.
  16. Curse of the free jersey giveaway
  17. The hardest part about this trade was pulling Peterson's head out of his ass to inform him.
  18. Getting back a minor league 3B with good slg, Cole Mathis (according to some guy on the internet)

  20. I dunno if they can fire a Venezuelan today. Bad eathquakes there
