  3. Sad. If you loved to hate the Yankees he was the best thing that ever happened. I always thought his in-game calls were a form of singing ("THUH-uhhhh pitch ... a FAST strike... y'know Suzyn...") The HR calls were so cheesy you had to love them, and you know he loved doing them. RIP, Pa Pinstripe
  4. Terrified that Vientos was gonna try and make that catch

  6. I was actually talking to a guy about this very topic on Tuesday. He mentioned there was a Met I'd totally forgotten, Ryan McGwire, who wore 40 in 2000. Late season guy up for an injury or something

  11. Last night, as always, Mike "King Cougar" was sitting behind us, leading the "Heeeeeeeeee struck! him! out!" cheer. This has been every time we go for years and I got curious about him, found out we had a mutual friend, then ran into him in my neighborhood (lives on the other side of town but its where he catches the bus to the Mets games). He scores all the games he goes to and counts them, amazinly, reaching 10,000 games over the weekend (last night was 10,002). He did this by working overnight shifts so as to attend day and night games, going to Yankee games when there's no Mets game and making several road trips a year. I even saw him at a Knicks-Nets game, I think he does football & hockey too. https://www.stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/take-me-out-to-the-ballgame-10-000-times
  12. Tuesday Night Mets have front-row seats to this shitshow tonight (in section 514).
