Pitcher batting eighth, speedster batting ninth, slugger batting second, Asdrubal the cleanup man. Mickey Callaway inspired by Step Brothers:

We're here to fuck shit up.

i'm not sure about Cabrera hitting cleanup, but i like Rosario after the pitcher. All in all, it looks like Callaway is just giving our best hitters the most ABs, so i'm not going to argue with that!
LGM!

Not fair to lay the cash-pot disappointment on the Mets when it comes to
who can watch what and where. I think they cheap out on the spring training
coverage but the regular season rules and stuff is MLB wide. And as a kid, if
you lived where you live now, the antennae on top of your house probably
wouldn't have pulled in a signal over the channel locally broadcasting.

A lady at Comcast once told me it was absolutely the Mets that blocks my zip code on MLBtv and ESPN

I think Comcastlady conflated Mets with MLB. Maybe someone here with out-
of-market issues has more to add on this than I can.

Yeah, the teams can't just willfully pick and choose who they want to shut out. That's something dictated by league-wide rules which has to do with various factors such as proximity to the city, the extent of
coverage for the channels covering each team, and any other team(s) which might also have a claim to your area.
And in the case of ESPN or FOX coverage it's the network's decision as to which markets get which games if there are multiples.

MLB.TV will tell you which team(s) you're blacked out on if you go to their page and punch in your zip code.

Not so fast

My Mets fan neighbor, Uncle Steve, told me Comcast told him the same thing when he called to complain. I doubt he got the same lady. I have another neighbor down the street who likes the Mets, I Drive My Mustang Really Fast Man, but I haven’t approached him with questions yet.

That crazy Mickey confounding tradition and batting what looks like a cleanup hitter second, and what looks like a two-hole hitter cleanup.

Also breaking a streak of three opening day starts for d'Arnaud.

Mike Matheny has a surprise of his own, starting José Martinez at first, moving Carpenter across the diamond to third, and leaving Jedd Gyorko on the bench.

  1. Fowler, rf
  2. Pham, cf
  3. Carpenter, 3b
  4. Ozuna, lf
  5. J. Martinez, 1b
  6. Molina, c
  7. DeJong, ss
  8. Wong, 2b
  9. C. Martinez, sp
  1. Nimmo, cf
  2. Céspedes, lf
  3. Bruce, rf
  4. Cabrera, 2b
  5. Frazier, 3b
  6. Gonzalez, 1b
  7. Plawecki, c
  8. Rosario, ss
  9. Syndergaard, sp

The lineup I saw had Syndy hitting 8 and Rosario 9, giving Cespedes the "double leadoff"

Which means we'll be up 5-0 nothing by the end of the second inning, which is cool.

Not too bad.

Also, is anyone planning to buy a yearbook today? If so, please post a scanned cover image! (Thanks!)
