Holy crapoli.

Just heard about this. Didn't believe it and came here to see. I still find it hard to believe.

At this point, only three position players from the opening day roster haven't been on the DL -- and all three have been traded.

Twelve pitchers have started for the Mets this year. Only four have avoided the DL -- Degrom, Montero, Flexen, and Tyler Pill.

I thought 2009 was bad, but this is a disaster.

Pill had surgery the other day.

Man, you can't tell the DL list without a scorecard.

I like that, in the age of ballplayers modeled on superheroes, the two ectomorphs—Blevins and deGrom—are the only guys to remain with the team the whole season.

Metsblog says 3-6 months recovery in the event of surgery.

Other papers are saying it could be as long as 9-12 months.

Seems like a huge discrepancy in projections.

i have to admit that upon hearing this, i literally laughed out loud. You have to appreciate the biblical scale of how disastrous this season is turning out. Locusts? It looks like we're soon going to see the death of our first born.

Unless he injured his labrum and glenoid, like D-Dad did in May.

The good news is that the Hospital for Special Surgery is really good at repairing that kind of injury.

What was D-Dad's recovery time?

So according to a whole host of people, some of whom are doctors, some of whom are not, some of whom have spoken to doctors but none of which have actually examined Conforto, this could
either be a long rehab or a shorter one depending on things we don't know yet and aren't going to know because none of those commenting on these things are going to examine Conforto.

But we'll be back to bring you more details as they remain unavailable.

I don't know, but it's sort of why I'm slow to target offseason acquisitions. Lots can change over the remaining weeks.

I don't know. it seems to me that the Mets should target upgrading their strength and conditioning staff.

Can Thor be far behind?

It will surely be a breath of fresh air to have someone back from the DL to root for.

HARVEY!

ESPN announces Harvey will be skipped against the Astros as his name bears an unfortunate similarity to a Hurricane and may upset Houston residents.

He should just change his name to "Shirley"

NO!
I heard a report on radio a few days ago (WCBS?) about a study that found that deaths from storms named after women were three times higher than from those named after men. The study covered that last ten tears. One conclusion was that we think of women being "gentler and nicer" than men, so the public doesn't believe the warnings are as serious when the storm is named after a woman and tend to disregard them.
Keep the name Harvey, please.
