More bad news for the Mets: Steven Matz will not pitch Friday against the Phillies. The lefthander experienced shoulder discomfort after Wednesday's bullpen session. The Mets will wait a few days and try again, but this likely rules him out for any potential playoff game. Mets manager Terry Collins said the team will "discuss all options and decide the option for Steven." "This winter we got to get a rehab program to strengthen his arm, his back and elbow," Collins said. "It's got to be a focus."
