Curtis gives a great post-game interview!

And you just know Verducci wanted to ask him a Jeter question!

Familia owes Grandy a week's worth of dinners for that one!!

First walk-off of the season for us, no?

First walk-off home run...Wright had that walk off hit last week against the Brewers.

Second, D-Wrizzle did it last weekend against the Brew Crew.

back in first place.

Racing stripes look terrible especially with guys wearing pants down to their shoes.

Yup. I know it's blasphemy but the '86 unis are starting to look a bit dated.

I didn't see Harvey in that welcoming party.

Well fine but if it lasts more than four hours you should give him a call.

If I have a four hour jobber, I'm not calling him. I'm calling a bunch of other folks.

I have a friend who's an ER doc. He tells me when guys come in with the '4-hour jobber', he says to them 'look I can stick this needle in your dick and fix your problem or you can just go home and enjoy it as long as it lasts'

The stupid thing that has always drove me nuts is Familia gets a W.

What a game. I couldn't have written it up better. It had everything. Even a sacrifice, as in deGrom's win. Great game.

Who is deGron and why does spellcheck like him better than deGrom?

Nice win for the team, but it should have never come to that. As many on this board said [u:1detmaap]before [/u:1detmaap]the events unfolded, an absolute bonehead move to bring in Familia today. I don't like what this says about Terry's decision making.

Piling on to the many reasons already cited by you guys, one of the biggest reasons you don't go this route is that if any other reliever runs into trouble, you bring in Familia. If Familia runs into trouble, you are stuck. You have to either:

1. Pull your closer. Which results in controversy! "Terry has no faith in Familia!" "Has Familia lost the closer role?!?!?"
2. Leave him in to meltdown, even when it's clear he doesn't have his best stuff and just hope you don't give up the lead, knowing he's probably going to, because you don't want the consequences of Choice #1.

Bad bad bad.

I did. He went to give Curtis a high five but missed up and away.

Even though the Mets won I'm still pissed off about this game.

Harv wasn't waiting at the plate, but he was out on the field. He and Grandy even shared a little hug.

I only know because I was actively looking for him in the celebration, too.

I dunno about Familia not having his best stuff

If that swinging bunt goes foul maybe none of those runs score.

Bad luck more than bad stuff methinks.

There was also a bloop just out of reach and a grounder that just found a hole.

Thinking about it now, if Familia was destined to blow a save this week, and that was it, that didn't hurt us at all. Now we'll see if it affects Fammy, if he's needed again during this series.

Yeah there were some bad breaks involved ... right up until the bases-loaded walk and the bases-clearing triple.

Can always count on FK for the reality slap.
