Need a couple of weeks.Mets came out and swept their conquerors in 2007. Will they do the same in 2016? Will, when the 2017 schedule comes out in July or whatever, bet on the team the Mets open against for the World Series?

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Terry is obviously still shaken by the World Series and has neglected to have a DH.

Guest El Segundo Escupidor Guests Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I have no problem with Hansel getting his first start as a Met for this one. But let's make sure Harvey is warmed up just in case.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I know no one cares, but there hasn't been a Mets game on tv sincelike Saturday. WTF, they have their own network. Use it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 And, as expensive as setting up a broadcast crew might be, there's something to be said for using spring training the way teams use them and throw some opportunities to out-of-work and aspiring broadcasters, apprentice camera operators, college intern sideline reporters, psychotic statisticians, openly gay post-game hosts, and the like. The MLB network games are fun for that very reason. I get an occasional "Hey, look, Tom O'Malley and Brian McRae are sharing the booth!" without having to worry about them stinking up a game that counts in the standings.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 The Royals already have advance scouts following the Mets and given how smart the Royals think they are (per Verudcci's article in the current SI and Kurkjian's article at espn.com on that play in Game 5 of the WS), these are the smartest advance scouts in the history of baseball.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Harper in the Snooze was also yapping recently about the KC advance scouting.Must be something going around when three journos all suddenly hit on the same story in the same week.
