Don't mess with what works. Harvey, Syndergaard, deGrom, Matz.

I want deGrom going if we have a game 7.

yeah, me too, as in games 1, 4, and 7.

But really, iwould go Degrom, Syndergaard, Harvey, Matz

I voted deGrom, Syndergaard, Harvey.

Sure, deGrom is the ideal Game 7 pitcher, but I'd rather have him get his second start sooner than that, in the hope of making a Game 7 unnecessary.

So I'd have those three guys pitch games 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7.

I'm starting to have my doubts about Matz in Game 4. (Unless the Mets win the first three games. There's precedent for that!) I don't doubt Matz's talent, or his future potential, but I'm not all that certain about his present. Maybe Colon would be a better choice for Game 4.

With the added rest, I'd go with Harvey first. Hold Thor until the first home game given his history of HAMMER TIME at Citi.

It's easier to go from Matz to Colon in Game 4 than from Colon to Matz. If Matz is in trouble, Colon is less likely to get ruffled. But I don't like the idea of putting the rookie into a pressure situation in the World Series if Colon gets into trouble.

deGrom, Thor, Harvey. or maybe deGrom, Harvey, Thor. Wait and see what the series is at before deciding on deGrom short or Matz.

I picked option #1 because I still prefer Noah pitching at Citi than on the road.

None of us have the information we need to really make this decision wrt health, not to mention the opponent yet. My choice is what Terry says.

Well, yeah, that's just, like, your opinion, man. (Again, most EVERYONE pitches better at home, including deGrom and Harvey.)

Give me deGrom, Harvey, Syndergaard. Or Harvey, Thor, Dutch. Or Noah, Dutch, Jake would be Jake. Honestly... I trust deGrom just a little bit more, but the order is almost immaterial to me.

Isn't that the objective/ purpose of a poll? To get our opinions?

DeGrom, Syndergaard, Harvey, pitching 1-2-3 then 5-6-7 (*if needed). Matz on a short leash in Game 4, with The Fat Man on call. Done.

We have such an embarrassment of pitching riches that there's no need for anyone to pitch games 1, 4 and 7.

And if Harvey gets in trouble in a potential Game 7, you have deGrom out of the bullpen for an inning or two.

Same exact here. I have no preference and can't decide anyways.

My friend, a Cubs fan, texted me earlier today. "You have three guys better than Arrieta. The other is better than Lester."

You know those fantasy lineups where you say I'd start '85 Gooden, followed by '69 Seaver?

'15 deGrom
'15 Syndegaard
'15 Harvey
'15 Matz

Would there be a tee, or would the Royals/Blue Jays toss the ball up and hit it?

So Harvey is your Game 7 starter? Also 12 days between starts. Not down with that.

DeGrom should be able to pitch a bit in Game 7 on two days rest, if needed.

I prefer to see Jacob get his two starts before Game 7 in the hope that the Mets can wrap it up before that 7th game is needed.

Well, now its, like, Terry's opinion. He has Noah scheduled for game 3, too.

Just to ponder some possibilities...

The weather forecast for Kansas City for Tuesday includes showers.

If there's a rainout, then I imagine we'd lose the travel day, playing games 1 and 2 on Wednesday and Thursday and then to Citi Field on Friday.

What would that mean for Game 5, then? Harvey on three days rest? Or a start for Colon or Niese instead?

Are the rules for rainouts the same in the playoffs or did they change since the 2008 WS?

The only rain rules that are different in the post-season is that all interrupted games will be played to a full game conclusion, whether later that same day or at the next possible opportunity.
No shortened 'official game' results are allowed.
