Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 The Moustakas defensive gem is the play of the game. Saves a run, stops a rally, makes it so that Mets have only a one-run lead to defend in the 9th.

That was just inexcusable. Conforto played it right, he looked at Cespedes and pulled off. Yoenis dhould not have looked at Conforto. It was his ball. What do I call that baseball card? The Ball On The Thigh Play? HE KICKS IT! I was just stunned. But one pitch, one run, no biggy. But jeeze, with these Mets, nothing's easy and nothing in the postseason is ever ordinary. And we came back and took a lead and allAdat and,...ugh. Familia. This would have been such an important slam. And kaBOOM!I was kinda like a zombie from then until the end. Because of fuckin Chris Young, who holds US in check? Our Chris Young. Grrrrrrr.Home plate ump Welke sucks. What I saw from was Niese was important. I have more confidence in him and he could step up. Didn't want or expect TC going with the 4 out save this early in the series. I spoke about with my brother during pregame and he agreed. What is up with Robles? Is he there?Anyways, I still thought Familia would do it until the ball flew off Gordon's bat. Ugh, that sinking feeling in your stomach. Luckily I had hot popcorn to fill it with. But that sucked. Young puts us in chains and they score on a freakin sac. GREAT throw by Grandy. Great, kinda extraordinary game. Close like they said it would be.Well, when we're at our best we always lose the first one and then sweep 4.But that opening...with the inside the park homer...I have never seen anything like that to start a series. I think they said it happened last in 1903. More historical stuff. For history to remain of it's proper path we must sweep the next four! LETS GO METS!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Terry said that Conforto backed off of the ball at the last instant thinking that Cespedes called him off of the play. But no one asked Terry whether or not Cespedes actually did call for the ball. It's driving me nuts that the play was even scored as a hit in the first place and we'll have to hear the phrase "inside the park HR" for that play for the rest of our lives.. That ball's an out over 99% of the time. It's that dumb baseball convention where if the official scorer can't determine which player to charge with an error, then no error is charged at all no matter how obvious it is than an error was committed. duan Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 gah - for all you lot complaining about being tired ye can go somewhere else. the good news is that this week has me only 4 hours ahead of ye (our clocks changed last week) the bad news is the games start at 8pm eastern rather the 7pm. If they started at 7 i'd be able to cope a bit better. So having stayed awake by working the game came on at about ten minutes past midnight. Joe Buck and the gang are horrendous. Stayed up till the 7th inning. You can only imagine how taxing delays like the fox one are at 2 am. Watched 8th and 9th in bed. Turned it off after end of 9th, I kinda knew we were done for and fell asleep with the radio in the 10th/11th. So that was probably 3.45 am ish. Smaller of the children was up at 6.50 am, everyone in the house up by 7.15. I can't do this tonight, so I'm planning on sleeping before the f'ing thing starts and waking up to speed watch it from about 6 - 7.45 Anyway, sorta had a bad feeling about Familia, it's a pity that the quick pitch was what got him as it's been a good weapon so far. Crazy shit that went on with poor Edson Volquez and his father. Not sure how the hell in the world you'd cope with coming off the field to be told that. For what it's worth, I'm definitely on board with starting Lagares and DH'ing Conforto/Cespedes (only Cespedes if you're worried about the shoulder) Juan's been hitting well since August and I just don't see Cuddyer/Johnson bringing as much to the party.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Familia does his best Benitez impression and now we're in a hole. If i see cuddyer again, i hope i'm not armed. And get your head out of yo anus, yoanis!okay, now i'm done. It's time for DeGrominator!
