It worked out OK for Yogi Berra.
I'll take an ugly, married, multiple MVP any time.

Well, actually, that's fine, if he's not douchey about it.

That would be kinda cool.

Obviously, putting aside any moral or health-related arguments for monogamy, it's not the douchiest thing in the world to be making insinuations about the broad record of romantic conquests you'd like to achieve, but while you're currently entertaining a high-profile relationship with a supermodel, a relationship promoted in the same magazine you're making these comments in, it is kinda douchey.

You ever meet anybody talking big about sexual success (real or imagined, past or future) who wasn't a douche?

rereading hte original quote, i think we're reading too much into it. all he's really saying, i think, is that he wants to date beautiful women and not be hounded by tabloids in the process.

is that so douchey?

the insinuations that the hot model he's currently dating isn't clearly enough and that he wants to string together an unending parade of hot young tail are being made outside of his words, clearly pulling just enough on the jeter thread to make for some fun hyperbole.

i think, clearly, there's a difference between "big sexual success" and all of freaking latvia.

I remember when Centerfield did Latvia he was so humble and respectful about it, not a douche at all.

Many have traced Harvey's combination of skill and discipline to the fact that his father, Ed, is himself a former college baseball player and current junior-college coach. While Harvey doesn't dismiss this notion, he credits his father with supplying an equally important lesson: that having fun is as important as anything else in life. "Dirty martinis and music that's the big motto in our family," he says, describing his extended Italian-American clan as a rowdy tribe, fond of letting loose as often as possible. "We get the booze going, and the music starts playing. Always old-school hip-hop. Jay-Z. Tribe Called Quest. The Pharcyde. My parents love that stuff."

1) Interesting parents.

2) Getting the booze going (with parental supervision) beats getting the boos going...which is why Ike Davis's parties have gotten so depressing.

I'm sorry, we were looking for married with multiple MVPs, not one MVP with multiple marriages.
But you will leave our show with this nice toaster over plus a copy of our home game.

I remember the Italian-American families in Connecticut when I was growing up. With them it was always nonstop Frank, Dino, & old school hip hop.

Ill tell ya if Harvey can walk the walk that goes with his talk we got something special here. I think I said that about Valdesac so.....
I do think that if Matt asked Jeter for advice the first thing Derek would say is : stop running off at the mouth. Only say things that need to be said.

I find Harvey refreshing in that he does say and do this stuff. He's really living it. Now all he has to do is pitch like a top ace for years and years and back up his jivetalk.
