Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I don't think the Mets are making up 101 games next year. I'll settle for 6.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Those archives are hilarious. There is a thread (if you search for "more nominations") that should or should not have been deleted. It is even brought up in the thread that it should be deleted. I'm glad it is preserved as a testament to the beginning of the Pool. The best quote IMO from the thread comes from Willets who said, "I have this nervous feeling that somewhere in cyberspace there's a third, even more exclusive forum where people gather to guffaw about the Crane Pool forumites..." Priceless.Going back and looking at those colors and pictures and fonts...it really made me want a cigarette. I used to chain smoke while reading the Pool.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 You were invited because of your little robot friend.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 jeez, i'm sorry i made you wait six years. that must've been simply unbearable.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I read about this place in a G-FAFIF column as well. And it was during a time when I needed to be able to commiserate with other Mets fans who were depressed.Joined: 16 Oct 2007 07:54 amAnd then the cock jokes started.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I've tried recruiting -- even got folks to register, including Darren from The 7 Line -- but they haven't followed up.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 To be fair, we've made it very difficult for them to follow up.And solving that is still on our to-do list!

I'll have to take a fresh look.Last time I tried it, answering the Mr. Wright question correctly got you registered, but unable to post. Now, well, it's simply a way to make you feel good about your ability to answer a basic question. Not that that's without value, but it falls quite a bit short of the mark.Sheesh.
