Wifey:

Dearie, me!

Last Word: While it isn't clear whether Capuano (who once won 18 games) is going to be a starter, reliever, or stooge for the Mets this year, Alderson has expressed that his team is "confident he has the ability to re-establish himself as a dependable starter." For what it's worth, negotiations with the Brewers broke off in light of his insistence that he could be a starter again.

What do you expect of Chris Capuano in 2011?

Accidentally shot to death at home.

I don't know why, but I am really optimistic about Capuano. I think he will have a great season. ERA of low 4's, to high 3's, 12-14 wins.

I think Cappy could thrive with the change in scenery.

I don't think he'll post All-Star numbers, but he will round out the back of the rotation with around 10 wins and an ERA just above 4.

He seems like a smart guy who is on top of what he should be doing to be an effective pitcher...so pretty much the anit-Ollie.

Anybody born on August 19 must be cool. 15-9, 3.72 ERA, 193 IP.

Me too. I'll say his ERA will be 4.20, and his W-L will be 12-10. 28 starts.

he starts off as the #5 guy. posting decent numbers, but then is out of the rotation with a non-elbow related injury late May. He returns after the allstarbreak returning to form.

18 starts. 2 relief apperances.
7-4 record.
ERA 4.18

Shooting at the pop-up scoring targets of heartache-- bang, bang-- she is a warrior.

I'm thinking optimistically... sorta. But TWO Tommy Johns? Hmm.

21 starts, 9 bullpen appearances.

8-6, 160 IP, 131 K/55 BB, 3.76 ERA/1.38 WHIP.

Amazing metfairy. I don't know how you do it.

(actually I do, and now I remember the 1/2 birthday too)

Yes - someone in my household will be of legal age next month!

Capuano is kind of guy the Mets should be taking a chance on. Ok, Fine, I just like looking at his wife.

Capuano had the academic numbers to get into Yale, and even signed a letter of intent to go there. But then he saw the Duke campus during a camp and changed his mind. Duke was just the perfect combination of academics and sports for me, he said. School was always very important to me, but it was also very important for me to get in the best position baseballwise, to pursue that dream.

- Translation: Duke had better weather.

Better looking chix too, especially if you can settle for the Chapel Hill girls.

And don't forget Yalie Ken MacKenzie, Mets class of '62. The first time he took the mound, Casey handed him the ball and said "pretend they're the Harvards." After the '62 season, MacKenzie was complaining to Casey about what he was making. "I've got the lowest salary of any of my classmates at Yale." Casey's response - "And the highest ERA."

27-1, 1.05 ERA, 315 Ks in 240 IP, plows a hot broad all year. It's the year of Capuano.

I mean, I can see all that happening.
But only plowing her?
Haven't you heard of the swallows of Capuano?

I expect that, regardless of Capuano's on-field results, I'll enjoy the ride.

PF: Are you thinking about getting it again? Youre going to be in New York.

CC: Maybe someday.

PF: Because there are people on the streets of New York riding Segways.

CC: Maybe someday. I could withstand the heckling [in Milwaukee], but I think in New York it might be at another level.

PF: Are you an Arrested Development fan?

CC: Thats where I first learned about the Segway.

PF: Okay, and . . . wait, and then you got one anyway?

CC: Absolutely. Thats where I first saw it, yeah, and whenever I saw the show, I said to myself, Im going to have one of those someday. And as soon as I got to the big leagues and was up there for a couple of years, I got one. And I loved it, had a blast on it. Do you like that show?

PF: I do. Im a huge fan. Thats what Im imagining right now.

CC: I just picture [G.O.B. Bluth] riding up and stopping on that thing.
