Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I'll open with... When have you changed our mind about a baseball principle and why?
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 What's your feeling on pitch counts? What's more important: flyball-groundball ratios or lefty-righty matchups? How would you handle a superstar who is not running hard or otherwise dogging it?Will you defend your GM in the press?(OK mebbe not that last one)...
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 How would you balance the NY media's thirst for information against protecting your players from outside distractions and pressure and keeping them focused?
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 you have a high OBP guy with marginal power and average speed, and a low OBP guy with excellent speed and marginal power. which one is your leadoff hitter and why. why does tony larussa bat his pitcher 8th? what are the pros and cons of this strategy?you're on the road. it's the 9th inning and the score is tied. your starting pitcher got you through the 8th but is out of gas. do you bring in your closer or save him until you have a lead?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 how would you describe your room-lighting ability?
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 It's the top of the 7th at Citizens Bank Park. Castillo is batting and Reyes is on first with one out. Wright is on deck, then Beltran. Halladay is pitching for the Phillies. Santana led off the inning for the Mets. Score is 2-1 Phillies. What is your strategy as far as bunting, stealing, hit-and-run? Why?Name one situation in a game you have been involved in where the manager has chosen to bunt and you disagreed. Similarly, name one situation where the manager has chosen not to bunt and you disagreed.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Do you adore a minuet... the Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette? Or would you rather rock-and-roll? Does a hot dog make you lose control? Also, an "Compose and explain the batting order" short-essay portion.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Does it hang to the left side or the right side.

Be happy and proud you remember kool stuff.Yes, it was 'The Patty Duke Show'. The odd thing being that I never (or maybe rarely) actually watched the show as I think the idea of physically identical but otherwise totally different cousins sounded really stoopid to me even way back then. Maybe it came on either right before or right after something I did watch, or maybe my sister watched it for a time and I picked it up via osmosis that way, but it's amazing how those stupid theme songs stick in your head.I couldn't have recited the words from memory, but I would have gotten a chunk of them and recognized the origin above as soon as it was printed.Meet Cathy, who's lived most everywhere,From Zanzibar to Barclay Square. But Patty's only seen the sight.A girl can see from Brooklyn Heights --What a crazy pair! But they're cousins,Identical cousins all the way.One pair of matching bookends,Different as night and day.Where Cathy adores a minuet,The Ballet Russes, and crepe suzette,Our Patty loves to rock and roll,A hot dog makes her lose control --What a wild duet!Still, they're cousins,Identical cousins and you'll find,They laugh alike, they walk alike,At times they even talk alike --You can lose your mind,When cousins are two of a kind. Now, F-Troop on the other hand, there was a great show!!
