G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I carry a torch for the New York Giants. But I carry a pitchfork for the San Francisco Giants. May the home team take one to Jonathan Sanchez early and often.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 SI was very overdesigned in that era, if the gigantic logo doesn't give it away (and it may still be). They also unnecessarily used boldface in headlines, irritaterd the crap out of me.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Four Amazin' Mets is also underlined inexplicably.Hey, Sports Illustrated: Underscoring became obsolete about 1988.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 That's the sort of nickname that put an end to Banner Day.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 "Piston?"SWANNY: Davis second... against Sanchez? A little sink-or-swim there for the young lefty, no?
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 He seems to hang in well enough, and he takes enough pitches that if Castillo is looking to steal he can have a chance. Pagan is not getting on base enough to be on top of the lineup.Of course, the likelihood that Castillo hits anywhere but two is small, but I think this would work.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I'm actually kind of suprised that Barajas is getting the start over Blanco. And that GMJ didn't find his way into the lineup.I need some baseball!
